  1. Good point about the shock. If you use wire, make sure your leader is mono. If you pair wire and floro a nice fish will snap it due to a zero stretch factor.....Trust me...I learned the hard way
  2. I troll with a 18' Crestliner equipped with a Fish Hawk X4 and a Honda 4 stroke 8 horse kicker. My issue is that it is very difficult to make speed adjustments down to a couple tenths of a mile per hour with the tiller throttle control of the Honda. Would forward controls solve my problem or is there another gadget out there I need to know about. Would a different prop make it easier perhaps? I have a four blade on it. Thanks for the input...p.s. yes I did post this on the "this old boat forum"!
  3. I troll out of a 18 ft aluminum Crestliner and My Honda 8 horse kicker is very hard to make minute speed adjustments. What is my best option? Should I try to find forward controles or is there a better product?Hmmm...... sorry...... this was supposed to make it over to "this old boat"...
  4. Another sent...sorry my cell is on the fritz!!!
  5. Sean's idea sounds right on the money!!! I like to fish the north half of Seneca. Any chance of not having to fly over the water all the way from Watkins Glen?
  6. "Pullin copper" with my Victrola! A heavy silver spoon makin a ruckus right on the bottom. I can be pulling in a Laker quicker than it takes me to send down my Fishhawk X4 and a flasher fly!! Hmmmmm... So much for progress!!!!
  7. Thanks a bunch for the info...
  8. There are a number of these guys from that org. and they are eager to help. Bright red is not the best color to find but I wish you the best of luck anyway. Send pics if you find him!
  9. Thanks guys...Sean, what brand and model inline planners do you recomend?
  10. Any suggestions on which setup to buy? Trying to decide between leadcore and a copper setup to run down the chute. Which one and why? Thanks...
  11. I second the Seth greene suggestion.... pulling Suttons of course!
  12. Good day of trolling Keuka today. Most fish were caught on the 67' rigger pulling a mtn. dew crush glow spinny with a Big Weenie reel hooked up fly. Green dolphin spinny with a e hammer G fly(chip) on a dipsy out 180 also brought fish in. The biggest fish of the day however was caught on a clean dw ss green gater 74' down. All ran 1.9 mph at the ball. Thanks L.O.U. for gettting me in the ballpark!
  13. Judging by the crowd at the Watkins Glen show in the spring I bet it would be a great success! Nice idea!
  14. Thanks to L.O.U and its members my 8 year old son and I boated a few huge fish we will never forget. If it were not for this sight we would be fishing blind!!
