  1. I would just jam some spin docs/ flies down there. Still gives you a chance to hook up with a lonely salmon that may be on bottom and the lakers love them too. Most of my luck has been on bright colors (crazy ****, lemon ice, pretty much anything with the chrome on it) 2-2.3mph has been doing it for me. If I'm running bells ill drop the speed down substantially (1.6-1.9) and ill run a spin and glo or a peanut behind it. I run the 3 or 4" (I think) bells. Hope this helps!
  2. Got out around 545 this morning and rode the color line for a few hours. 9.5 brown hammered a watermelon spoon first thing 15 down in 20fow. Ended up doing a 6lb smallie in front of the mouth in 15fow hit the same spoon. Once the sun came up we went out to 80-120 and hammered on the lakers the rest of the day, and picked up a bonus steelie up top (42nd spoon). Took one laker sd/fly on 225 wire everything else was on bottom with sd/fly. Water temp was 50-53 on top and as what I hear temps are the same all the way down.
  3. Do you have any 12 pounders? I am more interested in the 12's than the 16's. Sorry if I'm in the wrong thread.
  4. Need 2 12# torpedos. Let me know the final price and a check will be headed your way!
  5. Water was 36* We went 3 for 3 on browns today out of sandy, one touched 10 lbs. We were out from about 11 to 2. Ran 2 riggers @ 4 & 8 ft. with spoons which took 2, and ran 2 in-lines with sticks that took the other one. I think you were headed in as soon as we got out.
  6. I have been looking around to service/ repair my Tekota 800 and could not really find anyone in the area. I purchased this reel from a saltwater guy and the handle is corroded to the shaft. I just want it gone through and cleaned up if possible. Any information would be appreciated. ThankS!
  7. Thanks! I ended up taking one apart and the leads for the autostop switch were corroded. Cleaned them up and bingo! Thanks for your help!!
  8. I recently bought a pair and was wondering how the autostop works on them. I had them out on the lake last weekend (the line does not have the bead on it) and could not get the autostop to work. I tried pushing the button in with a pair of pliers, but it would not stop. Is there some sort of trick here or is the autostop junk on these riggers?
  9. Need to be electric Looking for something newer- digitroll, scottys, mag 10s, big jons, etc. Kind of like the tip up booms better than the stationary, but will look into any response Thanks!
  10. We headed east out of sandy today in the same 80-110 range and did a grand slam with a brown king laker and steel, missed one or two others. Nothing too special but what has been special since these fish have started staging and the weather has not cooperating.
  11. any pics of the interior of the boat? (without the cover on)

After that we didnt mark much and didnt take another hit for the rest of the night as we crept in around 105-120 where we were marking fish. Another slow night out of sandy. Hopefully this front will get these fish eating again. Thinking about tomorrow afternoon starting at 40fow and working from there w. j plugs as everyone we talked to did about as bad as we did tonight.

Started headin east off of the mouth in 80 and had another hot screen- got wires out from 150-260 w flasher fly and spoons, one rigger bouncing bottom and one suspended at around 75. Played with depths and speed all day and only got 2 hits off of a crazy ich sd and fly combo off I the wire. Both fish didn't even pop the releases. Rough two days for me as I have not had an issue catching fish at all this year. I provably marked 1000 fish the past two days and have 3 small fish to show for it. Eh that's fishing I guess. Out to do it all again tomorrow night! [ Post made via iPhone ]

Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): 8/24 Time on Water: 630-10am Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: <1 Surface Temp: Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 1 Total Boated: 1 Species Breakdown: brown Hot Lure: Trolling Speed: 1.9-2.9 Down Speed: Boat Depth: 50-140 Lure Depth: 40 down ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Got out first thing in the morning and headed straight out from the mouth to 50 fow and started setting up north until we found fish- we ran into some good bait and marks aroun 55, which we turned west and immediately ran into a 8 pound brown. At this point im thinking this is going to be a good day as we had not even had all of our rods out before we got a hit. After the sun made its way overhead, the screen slowed down and we poked out to the next area where we were marking fish (by this time we headed back east as it was an easier troll) found a ton of fish between the 85-110 area but couldnt get one fish to take. I probably used 15 spoons and 6 or 7 flasher fly combos that have been hot for me and I couldnt get one fish to take the bait. I also tried different trolling speeds and direction with no luck. I probably marked over 500 fish today and came out with one to show for it. Frustrating day on the water. Ill be back at it again tomorrow morning, hopefully with some better luck! Btw I did see towards the later part of the morning all of the boats heading a good ways east... was there something good going on over there?
  15. Tell me about it-Too bad it wasn't as fat as it was long!

Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): Time on Water: 430-dark Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: calm Surface Temp: 74 Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 4 Total Boated: 3 Species Breakdown: Kings Hot Lure: Crazy **** SD combo/ orange crush mag Trolling Speed: 1.9-3.1 Down Speed: Boat Depth: 100-170 Lure Depth: 40 down ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Started off east of the mouth around 1/4 mile at 115fow and took a nasty rigger strike 100 down that took us out to 450- got it back to 200 when the line went limp- What a bummer! had trouble finding the fish all day as we would mark a few here and there in the 50 foot range and on bottom. Got out to about 2 miles east when we turned back towards the mouth. Around 630 we took a wire strike on the crazy **** at 225 (1.5 setting) with a jack on the end. Screen went blank so we poked north right out of the mouth and still no real action until 160. At 170 we took a turn back south to start bringing in rigs and we took a 20# king off of the crazy **** again. just after getting the fish on our lip grip and resuscitated we took a hit at 100 on the orange crush again yielding an 18# king. It was pretty much dark after that so we pulled in and called it a night. Would have loved to see what the first fish looked like Still dying to get on the board!!
  17. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): Time on Water: 630-dark Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: nnw Waves: <1 Surface Temp: Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: 5 Total Boated:2 Species Breakdown: King Coho Hot Lure: Wonderbread SD/ UV blue Atom Trolling Speed: 2.2-2.5 Down Speed: Boat Depth: 100-125 Lure Depth: 75 down ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== We got our spread out at about 630 after messing with some electronics for a while- one rigger on the bottom w. cheater, one rigger at 85 w. cheater, Wires out 250 and 175. Right after we set our spreads up we had one following us on the Lowrance, so I screwed with speed and the low rigger went off with no one home. Shortly after the deep one fired again and somehow ran into our other downrigger line which ended up shaking off. After setting back down I noticed many of the fish were staying low so I put the 175 wire out to 225 when after 5 seconds of doing that it went ripping w. a 25# king on the other end. As we were netting that guy the 85 foot rigger went off with a 10# coho. We got everything situated and were dropping the wire back out when the wonderbread SD went ripping again, except the fish was missed as there was no real tension on the line due to dropping it down. Overall a pretty hot night for only actually fishing an hour or so. Both fish went back to swim another day. On a side note when I release fish I end up holding them overboard to get some oxygen back in them but it normally takes a few minutes and its annoying. I have seen friends use boga grips to do this. I made a little lip grip out of a spring clamp used for small hobbies and it works wonders. It holds the fish enough to keep it on during trolling speeds, but loose enough where a good head shake will release it. I have used it on 5 fish now with no problems- a little "rigged" but it does the same job as a boga but a little cheaper It is the smallest of these clamps with rubber contacts
