  1. Here’s a handy chart, much more accurate than the one included with the divers. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  2. I always keep the net wet, I occasionally throw quarters in the water as a bribe, randomly say "Lets pack it up", stare into the sun, have a play list of songs that are lucky and is now 23 hours long, bring a banana just so I can throw it off the boat, and I had my riggers blessed. Just hoping these tips can help everyone out. You don't need skill if you're lucky.
  3. A wire dipsy set on a 2 out 175 has been killing it on my boat. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  4. Depends on where you fish, art park is usually pretty free off weeds. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  5. Arrived in sandy creek mid morning on the 24th hoping to figure out where the fish were hiding. We were greeted by some large rollers and a north east wind. We managed to work our way out to 200 FOW and drop lines. Fished for a few hours, broke a rod in half, and only pulled one small steelhead out. We figured tomorrow would be a grind as well. We were wrong. On Saturday we hit the lake just after 5 am, headed East, and set up in 75 FOW. We set a 40 and 65 foot rigger plus a 140' and 175' dipsy. First hit came on the 40' rigger with a seasick waddler spoon but no one was home. Next the 140' dipsy got smoked but the wire snapped costing us the rig and fish. For the next 5 hours only the 175 dipsy got hit. We ran a 11" chrome two face spin doctor with a 42nd fly. First we pulled in a few lakers then a brown. When we hit 80 - 90 FOW we started to see some big marks on the screen. 175 dipsy goes off and we bring in an 18 pound king. Two minutes after we reset it we get hit again, fish rips off 250 feet of wire and we bring in one just over 26 pounds. After an hour we stop marking fish so we pulled in the lines and ran back to where we started. Again two minutes after we set the 175 dipsy it gets hit, we get a 17 pounder. Reset the dipsy and it took 10 minutes this time but we get a 19 pounder. Hit the dead water and pulled lines again, ran a few miles back and repeated the troll. Caught a few small lakers and another brown on the 175 dipsy. Repeated the troll one last time with some smaller fish being caught then headed into the launch to finish the day. Weighed in with a 80.52 pound box for the shootout and finished 8th. Great tournament and run very efficiently, we cant wait for next years event.
  6. There’s a pinned thread in the New York reports board called S.W.A.T. that has great information. Take a look at it. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  9. NBK has caught 60% of my fish this year for some reason, two face has been good. Lemon ice and Mountain Dew flashers have done well also. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  10. Yesterday I had my 10 pound shark weights down 76 but the fish hawk said 58 Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  11. Just a heads up that there is a boat that’s half sunk north west of Wilson. 5 feet of the bow is sticking out of the water and it has and orange flag tied to it. Coast guard is aware of it. Told me it sunk at Golden hill a few days ago but they haven’t been able to recover/sink it.
  12. Ya I agree they should have just added walleye, on the west end of the lake walleye are few and far between this time of year, way easier to catch steelhead. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  13. Anyone know why they replaced the steelhead division with walleye? Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  14. I fished canandaguia last week, 40 trucks in the parking lot and two ramps to launch out of. I’d rather we over react now, instead of asking why boat launches weren’t closed earlier. We can deal with this until the 29th. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  15. I did some work on the oak orchard pens today. Added some reinforcement to the corners and fixed the broken welds. I repaired the sodus bay pens in the fall. Get ahold of me if any pens need repair. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  16. This sucks, I did some repairs on the sodus bay pens to get them ready for this season and I’m going to do some work on the oak orchard pens in the next few weeks. I do the welding on my dime to help support the pen projects. Sodus bay got eliminated completely which pisses me off since I used my gas, material, and time working on them. I will do the work on the oak orchard pens as promised but can’t see myself doing it in the future if the cuts continue. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  17. Two reels both with 900 feet of 50 pound power pro and 300 feet of 45# copper. Neither set up has been used too much. No rods. The CLR 553 LS could probably fit 400 feet of copper on it. Asking $100 for each reel or $175 for the pair. Located in Wilson, will be driving to Sodus bay on the 26th. Will deliver or ship as necessary. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  18. I love doing salmon with a brown sugar and soy sauce marinade. I put a fillet in some Tupperware, cover the fillet in brown sugar and add enough soy sauce to dissolve the sugar. No real measuring involved. Let the fish marinade for 2-4 hours, 2 hours is just fine. Grill meat side down for some nice char marks then flip skin side down to finish. 19. 3.2 had been good to me this year. Mainly running mag spoons on the riggers. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  20. Today I was out of wilson, screen was good from 75 FOW to 100 FOW. Caught a 25 pounder down 30 over 80. Temp was 45 degrees down 68. A couple of fish were in the bait out of temp. Bite was tough but I didn’t have enough time to try to work other lures in before the wind picked up. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  21. I’ve had my leads as short at 10 feet. I feel like I have a better hook up rate if the rigger is deep and has a short lead over a long one. I’ll run anywhere from 2.2 to 3.3 at the ball until something sticks. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  22. Just remembered this 39 pounder caught in the fall LOC a couple years ago. 47 inches long. Don’t mean to beat a dead horse but no way that fish was 42. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
