    Rich S is spot on with the comfort of fishing. I have a 1992 221 islander with the 4.3l in it. I have been in some pretty rough water with it and always felt safe as well. U just need to pay attention. Aluminum has its advantages and disadvantages. It trailers easy and is good on gas. But the wind catches it like a sail and you tend to ride over waves rather than thru them.

    Huh. I was under the impression that the DEC stocked salmon in tributaries/rivers and they come back to those same tribs etc to spawn. I understand that the salmon may not stay right near that area for the X years they are in Lake O before returning but figured that when they do return in the late summer/fall it would be in greater numbers. From what I understand, even last years late summer/fall fishing out of Mexico was really bad.

    How long of a run is it from Oswego to fair haven and isn't there a lot of fishing to be had between the ports?

    If I do make it out this year I will most likely pass by Mexico and head to Oswego

    I had this happen to me last year out in front of 9 mile pt. was driving me nuts. I should have brought the lures closer to the ball I think I had them between 15 feet and 7 feet.

    Ok good luck! I would expect a long report of the pro am after like previous years! Haha jk. Thanks for taking the time doing the reports, vids and the fb now! Keeps us who don't get there much hungry to fish!

    Whatever goes into my cooler is usually frozen, this includes the majority of drinks etc. nothing goes in room temperature if anything the food product had at least been refrigerated etc. I can't stand it when someone buys ice then dumps in cans of room temperature drinks etc.

    That is really interesting. Back in 1999 a couple buddies and me went on a spring brown charter out of the little salmon. We trolled back and forth in front of the little salmon and other places.,we caught a pike, not that big but a decent one. And we also caught the rod that my buddy lost over the side of the boat. Needless to say the charter captain was happy

    Seriously, the boat u have right now will have a few hurdles to get thru in order to be really setup for fishing. Especially if the boyfriend isn't into it. First issue is your rack over the boat, that is gonna make landing salmon difficult. Skip the down riggers. Install two be r t s rod holders on either side. Get yourself two dipsey rod setups and just run them. Otherwise, lots of good bass and other species in lake o that will not require specific tackle
