    Hey Lew! Luckily I have the best of both worlds, when its sugarin time its too dang cold, icy and snowy to fish, when its fishin time the sap isnt runnin! haha

    It might be an issue I agree. My point is, do not directly attack one individual directly. I would assume we are all adults here. There is also an issue of careless boat handling from someone who has no experience in navigating a boat too.

    Google cruising Americas great loop. There are a few very good website setup just for this. Of course the canal system is part of the great loop. I highly recommend it. I have wanted to do the same thing. My wife and I are even thinking about purchasing a trawler when we retire and cruising the entire loop for a year.

    where did u get the rocket launcher. I like that for sure. Also like the light u have mounted on it. One thing my islander doesn't have is enough interior lights or courtesy lights..actually it doesn't have any other than in the cabin

    I agree. 2013 was my first year fishing lake o. I launched out of Mexico pt and Oswego. Mainly Mex pt. only made two trips though one for a three day fish and then one single day. Only landed 1 27lb king. Had a few come loose on me. Still allot to learn and I have no temp equip and an old 1990's eagle electronics.had a blast though! Can't wait for spring browns I haven't done that yet. Will hopefully take 3 days mid week and fish them probably early may.

    Ok, I am a newby here as you all know from previous posts. I have never run nor do I currently own a meat rig. I am abit confused regarding all of this talk about a shortage of cut bait..Everyone asking where they can get it etc? Can someone please explain to me the issues? Thanks in advance.

    I need to look into some new weights. I don't think my 8lb weights worked really well last august trolling down 100 feet!

    Ok so I have been reading earrings books. He strongly promotes using 12 lb stren on spoon rigs. I think I am using 30lb mono and 17lb flouroclear leader on my riggers. I am thinking about getting on decent rig for 12lb setup. I would run it on one rigger constantly. Does anyone else really feel strongly about running 12lb mono for spoons?

    Last year was my first go at it on Lake O as well. I went out of Mexico and Oswego. I did head for the pack out of both ports but for the most part stayed on the outskirts. When I did get into the pack it wasent choas so that was good. the only fish I catch tho was well outside the pack. there is something to be said about that.

    This makes sence to me as I am exactly what you just said. and I dont get on lake O much, other than a few times a summer at best. last summer was my first time. I think that I should get serious and invest in a Fish Hawk. If I am to buy one, I will most likely get the Fish Hawk X4D and be done with it.

    I am sure that I will pull the trigger on a fish hawk at some point.

    Hmmm. Thats allot of $ for only getting to fish Lake O once or twice a year...
