  1. Dirt they will be staging here soon so don't worry as much about the temp. Fish the marks as they will be coming out of their temp to get bait. We haven't fished Oz this year just Mexico. I know they're doing work at Wrights but from what I've read the ramp is open. The nice thing about Oz is it gets deeper faster there than Mexico. I'd say to start around 150 FOW with riggers between 80-100', dipseys back 240 and 300 on number 1 setting and troll out, again watching for marks and adjust as you go. I like F/F or SD/F when they start to stage, glow and white early morning, chrome combos later if sunny. Ask around the tackle shops and at the launch. Some people don't like to share but there are a lot of us that will. Good luck to you guys!
  2. Not sure you'll get out of Pine Grove this year unless you're boat is small. Last week all the docks were not in.
  3. You will never go wrong with a white/green dot flasher and hammer fly
  4. We had our best hits tues/wed in 180 fow off dipseys, 280-300' out.
  5. I know in the past my best rig when high noon was a chrome spin doctor/green dot with either a hammer or pro am fly off a dipsey.
  6. You can get a cheap camera flash to do the trick, that's all I've ever used. Amazon has a bunch of them.
  7. Keep checking the classifieds on here. You can get a lot of good stuff for great prices.
  8. Like They catch Stripers on the Hudson
  9. X2 however I like the comfort of a bigger boat so I'll keep mine.
  10. Mine actually named the boat. I get the best reactions from the women.
  11. Fished off the river tues afternoon and wed morning. 50-70' down 35-40' on riggers, 60' out on dipsey #1 setting. f/f, J plugs, spoons all took fish, 1 brown the rest cohos. Orange, blue and silver for colors.
  12. Nice job Low Baller. Hopefully they'll stay around a little bit more.
  13. sstout I'm not sure how far you have to drive. NOAA says 2' or less for waves. The thing that would concern me with your smaller boat is forecast is for SW wind and any west wind could be bad for smaller boats.
  14. We took fish on F/F, J Plugs and spoon. orange F/F, orange spoon and silver/blue J's
  15. Low Baller good fishing with you guys, good luck in the morning. There's still fish to be caught.
  16. sstout nothing on Lake Ontario is guaranteed but given the forecast and the fact that there are fish close to shore I think you could fish. You could put in at Pine Grove which is on the Big Salmon and cut down on your run. Good luck.
  17. Low Baller one of my buddies was there Friday and went 8-11 in 60' off the big river. F/F, plugs and spoons all took hits. I'll be heading up in the morning.
  18. Charlie P best of luck to you. We'll all be praying for a quick and speedy recovery so you can give em hell next year!
  19. It does look good, I'll be down by the big river tues/wed. Still hope it's good enough to get at least another trip in before I climb the tree. Good luck on the water and in the woods!
