  1. Thanks everyone just kind of had a hunch because last March when I was out up there, there were other boats working that 20- 30ft range with riggers and dipsys and looked like short cores and flatlines. Wasn't sure if they we just targeting Browns deeper or if fishing for Lakers too. Didn't figure browns because the way we were hammering them In the shallows
  2. Late winter/early spring lakers I was considering making a trip to the big lake within The next few weeks out of bear creek or hughes marina and would like to target lakers after I get my fill of browns and am hoping I've got this right on how to do so. Correct me if I'm wrong but I figured all it would take would be sliding out to 20- 30ft of water and putting on deeper diving sticks off the boards and either spoons of flasher/flies off the riggers or possibly cowbells and spin and glows or am I under thinking it
  3. Dont know much about the ones that clip to the cable. However i like my scotty pinch pad releases because the long leader allows movement which shows in your rod tip when youve got a fish on too small to pop the release
  4. Nick put me 2nd in line on the single rod holder
  5. Kicks chokes Selling two kicks choke tubes for a mossberg 835/935. Prefer to sell together but will seperate if both are spoken for. Pick up only as of now Cayuta, NY Kicks gobblin' thunder x-full turkey choke .680 diameter $40 Kicks high flyer x-full (great for snow geese) $40
  6. Was another option just wasnt sure how much it would run
  7. Wiring Just a quick question. Can i run a whole day of fishing with 2 electric riggers, a fish hawk, and a fish finder off a full charge of a deep cylce marine battery? My battery doesnt charge off my little tiller motor
  8. If anyone is interested in the 2 with 4ft booms ill take the 2 with 2ft boom
  9. Its not to wimpy on certain days. While others it isnt going to be able to handle it. The biggest thing to remember is it is most important to check the weather and go from there. It would make a nice boat for the fingerlakes however. Personally i own a 14ft deep v and fish on the fingers even in some rough conditions and have fished ontario in the spring for browns with no problems but i have been on the big lake fishing for salmon in rollers and its no fun. You have to know when to tuck your tail between your legs and get to shore
  10. Managed to shoot a luestic a few years back myself they are an interesting color form of a canada Sent from my SM-J100VPP using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. Those xperts are great for shooting birds at respectable ranges. I shoot the Winchester blindside most often because i get them for same price as xperts with a plastic shell container but all the fancy stuff is for the rich and the skybusters. Keep em within 35yards and youll see no difference
  12. With that being said on the off chance it does go bang on the first shot i have it paired with a kicks mod. Choke and it is a shooter. This sept myself (6 shots) and a buddy (4 shots) killed 11 flying geese with 10 shells in one volley
  13. I have an 835 as well and hate it. Rarely goes bang the first time i pull the trigger and has had other issues. My cousin had a newer one aswell but it fell apart in his hands. We both went to 870s his in super mag mine in the 3 inch version and havent looked back
  14. So feel free to state your opinion but something was brought to my attention today that really got me thinking. So today at work I was discussing various things about the finger lakes with a co-worker who has a cottage on Conesus. He is not an angler but just enjoys the finger lakes region as much as we all do. The topic of the lake level do to this drought was brought up and he hit me with a statement that really left me speechless. He realizes that the runoff from farms and wineries has a negative effect on the lakes but he said that this year there was no algae bloom nor were there many weeds over there and he figured it has to have something to do with the low lake levels, but then he mentioned that this year with little to no rain we didnt have the runoff from the agriculture that we normally would have and we just couldnt figure out if this was positive or negative. Is this going to just make more runoff next year? Did we get a year without much runoff to maybe help out? Or did we get enough rain for the runoff to still happen? Please voice your opinions to maybe help answer this question.
