  1. For rainbows keep speed between 2.5-3.2 and keep bumping it up and down and keep riggers between 40-60 ft down and make east to west trolls may not slam them but you will catch a few. Good combos that work for me are white or blue paddles with a good silver or blue spoon trailing it (distance can vary from 18-36inches) also always do well on silver and or blue spoons ran by themselves. (I dont have temp either but if you keep playing you'll find a few)
  2. Nice job! Jason I talked with shawn this afternoon at cvo and he seemed pretty excited with the day and showed me a few good colors of your lures to try out. I think I'll be headed back down there on pay day!

  4. Way to go John we were over there yesterday and did around 30 fish with about an equal number of lakers and just under legal size landlocks as well as one that went 19inches and tasted great. We fished just infront of the creek mouth and just north of boy scout camp. Had a hard time keeping riggers down. Love that lake!
  5. Madds had awful customer service for me so I went high seas gear and they are great
  6. Hmmm sounds like fishing is good at deans cove. Might better go there tomorrow!
  7. Your a good man mark probably wouldn't have blamed you much. Hope it didn't make to much a mess of your guys lines
  8. Love my torpedo almost no blowback was playing with bottom the other day in 80 fow trolling 2.0mph and hit bottom with 82 foot of cable out i was really surprised
  9. Great job Joe you guys definitely deserved it managing those silvers
  10. Thanks guys was a fun day. We fished hard and mike congrats on your 4th place finish you were really nipping on our heals by ounces. Still going to be tough to catch you in the points race haha see you at Owasso and good luck to you both memorial weekend
  11. Launched at branchport just after 5am and ran to west side and set up on a north troll flatline in close ended up picking up 2 lake trout on a yellow bay rat as well as a few small mouth around 4lbs each that kept us busy. Then we ran into a little trouble as we rounded a point and our newbie driver ended up getting an inline caught into another club members otter board... With minimal trouble we got that stratened out then decided to shift out on a south troll down west side a little deeper to avoid trouble. We had a constant pick of lake trout on small stinger spoons off 3 and 5 color cores as well as a few hits of the riggers and one on a flasher on a mag dipsys on a 3 setting out 78. We lost a few fish with 2 being off fish (I would bet rainbows) back to back that took rips off the 3 and 5 color cores. I literally didn't get to sit down from 5 til 1030 with a steady pick having a hard time keeping rods in and that only lasted a short time as from 11 til we picked up it was steady again. Most fish came between 120-160fow but nothing was deeper than 55 foot down. Headed for weigh in not super confident with our laker box but ended up with a 3rd place finish and only 1oz short of linker. Great day on the water. Congrats to Joe S. And the keepin' it reel crew on the win! Really paid to find the silvers today.
  12. I agree about them humbling you that's for sure I'm still sore from the butt kickin canandaigua gave me. Looking forward to Keuka but not gunna get my hopes up to much even though I did get out over there Saturday afternoon. John the temps were between 45-49 in the surface it really varied
  13. Thanks mike can't wait to try my new flies this weekend!
  14. Would've been nice to at least get a few more would've made the wet ride in a 14ft boat a lot more enjoyable haha
  15. Don't feel bad. I was the bug too. As only my second FLTA event and first time fishing canandaigua out of my boat and its been a few years since I fished it with anyone else and that was only twice I knew it was going to be a challenge. We worked shallow and deep on the east side and could only get one 17inch laker at 1.8lbs to fire. Was definitely a tough lake. Makes me look forward to Keuka a lot more. Maybe should've went turkey hunting but you've gotta take the bad to get the good
  16. May be a dumb question but do you have to strip all line off the reels first? I've got some reels that I would like work done with but don't feel like having to buy new wire
  17. Mike can you tie up custom flies? I'm looking for something mostly yellow with a hint of black and blood red
  18. Always dip net after getting rods set, kick back and put in a dip and wait for first rod to fire. And then if its slow empty the beer tank, make a sand which then I like to tap a coin on each reel then throw it over my left shoulder into the water
