  1. Thanks guys all good info gunna keep my eye out for a fairly cheap one I learned last year how big of a price of the puzzle temp is and I can tell that with me transitioning from Seth green rig fishing to down riggers and dypsies I'm going to have to pay much closer attention to temp!
  2. Is a fish hawk TD worth it for the price as an intro temp device?
  3. Pap I completely agree I think I catch fish just as well as the next guy on the finger lakes using my dads hand-me-down old spoons with older tactics I have been buying some of the newer stuff aswell but 9 times out of 10 the best producer award usually goes to a spoon that's older than I am a lot of that time its a Sutton 44, 29 or my personal favorite a 72
  4. Did anyone produce well with the long shallow as well I hear wayyy more talk of the short shallows and I'm kinda getting worried I made the wrong choice picking up a bunch of long shallows at the niagra show
  5. I've seen them run off big otter boards and the system for doing that was pretty unique and it worked great we ran 4 seth greens at a time off that boat but never an inline just wondered if one was good enough to hold that weight I troll out of a small boat otherwise I would pull a jug more. I'm looking to get out of running rigs and into the down rigger, dypsie, copper lead core thing but would like to have the old standbys available in a pinch
  6. Would also like to know if anyone has ever heard of or used a sailfish spoon made in Canada I have a bunch of these laying around that I inherited from my uncle rick angle years ago who owned creek side bait&tackle in Montour but I have never gave them much of a chance do to being a skeptic of their design ( look like they would just spin in the water)
  7. I have a couple quick questions first being has anyone ever attempted to run rattle traps for flatlining browns was just thinking of giving this a go as I have a limited selection of stick baits (did purchase some bay rats at the Niagara show this past weekend) but came upon a decent amount of rattle traps in my bass tackle. Next I was wondering if anyone has attempted to run a set green rig off an inline board was thinking that if a bigger inline board can handle 500 or more foot of copper it could probably handle a 28 or 32oz sinker to get a rig off to the side of the boat instead of running one on a jug rig directly behind the boat and in the way. Just testing some thoughts thanks in advance
  8. Looks like a good day. Lots of good marks?
  9. Did well on Cayuga all summer but haven't fished since late August wanted to put together a good fish fry today just made the wrong move guess I know next time haha
  10. I almost pointed for t-falls this morning but second guessed myself
  11. What kind of a program have you been running on Cayuga this winter? Deep or shallow? I'm kinda new to this winter trolling game
  12. Fished today from 730-2 running a flatline program both sides of the lake from Watkins to hector over lots of depths even tried a dypsy and a couple different colors of core without so much as a hit. Did mark suspended fish and deep fish but were unable to reach them do to no down riggers mounted yet. Still shouldve picked something up flatlining that long this time of year. I'm stumped
  13. Anyone been out or going out I'm going to try to make it out Saturday will post live feed will be nice to be back out on the water

  18. In search of 1 base for an older cannon manual downrigger (white body)swivel prefered but fixed will work if its all i can get.
  19. I agree on the bad juju. I took my father along and he has been the bad juju for the year. Fished barney and bear tourney on cayuga a few weeks ago with him after i had been crushing the fish over there for weeks but brought him, couldnt catch nothing but fleas. Then took him to cayuga last week after i hit them good the day before but motor wouldnt start with him with me. Then the bad luck at owasco yesterday. Guess the man who taught me how to fish is bad luck to bring on my boat?
  20. Super slow out here trolled various depths, speeds, spoons and fished from south to north end of lake with only the one laker. Shouldve fished cayuga
  21. Just hit 20inch laker 100ft down over 150fow joes pirate frog pattern spoon
