  1. Single Seastar ram. I don't think you can do a dual ram, but not positive.
  2. I ended up installing a TM 150 instead. It really ticked me off that I finally have a boat that can utilize a shoot thru and I can't because of Lowrance. What also aggravates me is the secrecy surrounding this issue Lowrance has... I may still install a P75 someday if they figure it out.
  3. You just need to make sure your steering ram isn't too big for the pump 1 that comes with Lowrance Outboard Pilot. I installed it with twin 150s.
  4. I use Wille sideliners for pulling short cores. They work well. They have BB rattles in them also. I believe Big Jon makes these same planer boards now.
  5. Chamberlain's stacker release is the way to go for stacking, IMO. They are easy to set in any position on you cable, and release when they hit your pulley. They are easily adjusted for heavy or light tension so you don't drag fish.
  6. Sounds like the caulk was used sparingly on yours. You should be okay, hopefully. Just have some good vice grips handy in case
  7. Jigstick, I did the oversize and epoxy method with every hole I have drilled in my Grady that is drilled through cored fiberglass, and I drilled and epoxied every old hole that had 5200 inside. I could see on existing holes where I removed stuff on the gunwales that was installed by previous owners that the core had been getting wet. Those all got over drilled, epoxied, then gel coated over. This method is time consuming and tedious, but gives me great piece of mind for my first ever slip boat. My boat had a small leak on the port scupper through hull fitting. I was worried I would find rot in the transom when I pulled it off, but luckily the hole for the scupper drain had been prepared with the same method and the wood never even got wet inside the hole. Everything is solid as a rock still. Those screws for my P66 did come out, luckily, but it was a PITA because the transducer was still stuck to the transom with whatever caulk (probably 5200) was used and I had to work around it.
  8. When I pulled the screws for my P66 out to mount my transom saver board, the 3 screws all broke and luckily I had enough sticking out to grab with vice grips and remove completely. They all had caulk all over the threads which I am assuming was 5200.
  9. I recently bought a used Ranger net and found out it had a nifty rare earth magnet with small clip hooked to the basket. I just clip the magnet to the metal handle extension release pin. It works awesome. I don't know who makes it but I'd like to find another one.
  10. I use the zip tie with the extra mounting hole on the end and attach a pinch pad release to it. Wrap some electric tape around the net handle before attaching the zip tie so it wont move.
  11. No worries. In reality everything on my boat, including the boat itself, is a toy. I hope your new toys work out for you!
  12. Why do you have to insult others just to feel better about your decision on which AP to purchase? In my extensive research, I found Hewescraft is a toy compared to a Duckworth or a few other Pacific style boat manufacturers...it's all relative to your budget and needs. Why spend more money on "the best" when what you actually need might be considerably less expensive and still work perfectly for your needs? BTW...Simrad has been making AP systems for a long time, and Garmin has had their share of issues with their adventure in the AP market.
  13. I use the 35# spro swivels and have never had one fail. Double uni should work great as well. If you will be clipping the lines into releases a lot, I would use a longer leader so you can put the mono/flouro into the release instead of the braid. It will hold better in most releases and it is easier to see when you need to retie your leader.
  14. I would say 4200 because it is less permanent. 5200 is permanent if that's what you're looking for.
  15. That coax thing is just crazy. I can't figure that one out at all... It's good to see the weather has finally allowed you to get some work done though!
  16. LOL! Couldn't you simulate a Musky battle by tying a plastic bag to the end of your line?....If you set the machine on Musky, does it just sit there and do nothing for hours?...JK, I've had days of Salmon fishing that I felt like I was Musky fishing. I would love to have this in my basement. What a blast!
  17. The boat is looking great! I know what you're going through. I replaced almost every peice of wood in my Lund. Wish I had done vinyl on my floor...
  18. I say bad ground, or somehow you have bad contact with the set screw on the spool with your wire cable.
  19. So...I take it you won't be shipping? Never heard back from you...
  20. The new style Traxstech dipsey holders are the best I have used. They are super smooth when ratcheting. They are pricey but worth it. For dipseys I just use single axis holders. I used to have Berts, but traded those for Cannons. They both work great, but the Traxstech holders are much nicer so I bought 4 of them for my new boat I am rigging. The one handed operation on the Cannons is really nice but I feel like they aren't built to last and mine are already a bit sloppy after 3 years of use. I also had one of the plastic caps fly off into the lake while pulling the rod out during a fish-on.
  21. Thanks for the vote of confidence, Eyecatcher. I am happy with everything I have purchased from them. I can't wait to add more stuff I have ideas for, but that will wait til I see my parts I'm waiting for.
  22. Wow! That really sucks, and kinda scares me to be honest. What kind of stuff did you order that was held up for so long?
  23. Okay, thanks. The one I bought from Hodges has the 9 pin, but they have a 9 pin airmar to 7 pin unit adaptor. I just ordered that because I tried connecting to the structure port and couldn't find the TM150 as an option in the sonar installation menu. Hopefully it will recognize the transducer if I connect to the 7 pin port?
  24. How did you connect the TM150 to your HDS? Did you use an adaptor to go to the 7 pin sonar port, or use the 9 pin airmar right into the structure port? I picked one up and it appears to be the same connection as my totalscan ducer, but I see they sell a couple different adaptors...
