  2. To me that's getting late. But this year, all bets are off, seems like it was slow start do maybe it will be good. That's usually when I fish Erie for Walleyes out of Catt Creek. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. ABSOLUTELY. AND THE MIGRATION OF THE ASIAN CARP Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. Yes, it's funny the coppers aren't working as well for me this year. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. I just wonder, do they spawn and die when they reach 2 years old? If so, these extra large fish certainly couldn't get that big in two years. So do some fish not spawn???? Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. To me, this has been a windy year with some bad currents. You certainly do need to troll in such a direction as to give a smoother ride, and to keep the lines fairly straight out back. Usually with the waves is the smoothest, across us the worst, and against them is better than across. But sometimes the down current is moving in a different direction. It can be a challenge. Sometimes it's not the direction you want to go though. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  8. Yes I have a Fish Hawk. Kept speed at 2.4 to 2.8, as best I could with the current and wind. I also have the itroll throttle control which helps. Strange thing is when we arrived at 2 pm I asked a guy cleaning a nice mess of fish for a good depth. He said 300 so that's where we went. Then when we returned, I asked another guy at the cleaning station who had a two man limit, and they said they were 150 to 200 feet. So it seems the fish are scattered. It's a crap shoot. Seems you can find 45 degrees at 150 and at 300 the last couple days. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. How fast does the bigfoot kicker push this boat at full throttle. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. I am selling the Fish Hawk that was installed on my boat when I bought it. I tried it out the other day and the down temp and speed information was jumping around. I didn't try to adjust anything on the back of the unit. Maybe the probe is the problem. I am selling it as is. See pictures. $80 should be a decent deal even if you have to buy a probe. 12. Impressive. And all in shallow water. I think I always start out too deep. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. Went again today, July 5 and caught 3. Lost 3. A little better day than so far this year for me. Only my 4th trip out I think though. Then it got rough so we gave it up around 4 pm. We were in 280 to 325 FOW. Didn't mark much. Set riggers at 40 and 55, then finished at 70. Tried 200 foot copper, two dipseys, two riggers. Mix of spoons, FF, and meat. 15. I never start that shallow I usually go out to about 150..... maybe I should start shallower. The trouble is if they are deep, by the time you troll all the way out it's late morning and the bite is over, always been a Catch 22 for me..... 16. Struggling again. It's not been a good year for me. Started out in 200 FOW, Trolled North. My two guests got sick immediately, so I had to take back in at 0730. First time on a boat. They should have taken the dramamine the night before. I caught one nice Coho on a 200 copper on a FF with 42nd SD in about 180 FOW just before I took them back to ramp. Went back out after dropping the sick ones at the dock. Went to about 200 FOW, nothing. Went to 305 FOW, nothing. Then it got rough. They missed the forecast. 17. Why is it so difficult to maintain reasonable water levels? How long have we had this problem? Seems like a recent problem to me, so what changed in the last ten years?...start there. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. Amazing what can be done with fiberglass. The top is not structural so it's definitely not critical. It can be done using basic fiberglass layup techniques, as I am seeing from all the input here, and online. I do most everything myself to save money, and in my budget. 20. Oh that makes sense. Plus I looked it up and I guess it's better to wear out Pinion gear than a Flywheel! Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. Why would a steel gear cause a problem? I tried but I couldn't get the starter off. It wouldn't drop down far enough, it's hitting a vacuum port. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. Hey you know what, I think you may be right. I never thought of that, and the pinion is right there engaging the flywheel on the other side. I will take the cover and inspect it. Thanks! Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. I see this material called King Starboard. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  24. I was going to say, the damage is all one side, and appears to be above water line. Looks to be fixable, not withstanding the question about the engine which I don't know about. But a brand new motor can fail also. I would consider just pulling off the damaged canvas, buying a cheap Bimini, and patching, sanding, painting it. It will catch just as many fish as it did before. Hell my wife never goes anyways, and I can't find a girlfriend, so a Fishing boat is all I need. Also, the fishing sucks do far this year so you aren't missing anything yet.
