  1. Oh ok. I changed the filter last spring. Ran it all summer. Then I thought I would check it today since once in a while at full throttle the motor would back off a few hundred RPMs for a few seconds. I thought maybe hysterisis in the cable might be the cause, but now that saw that water that in the filter I'm thinking maybe that was it. I ordered a new filter today. 2. I've never drained the tank since I bought the boat 3 years ago. It's a 92 gallon tank on a grady white Bimini 220. I'm going to try to to pump out the bottom aft part of the tank and hope to get the water out. I have the bow of the boat trailer jacked way up. 3. I removed the fuel filter and dumped contents into a quart jar. See pictures. Water, contaminated. Now what do I do? Tank has 90 gallons in it. How in the world am going to drain all the fuel out and dispose of it? I noticed the fast few times out the motor would big down momentarily. Advice is appreciated. 4. Congratulations! And Thanks for always taking the time to give a detailed report to help us weekenders learn from you. It is appreciated by so many who read the reports but never post a thank you, I'm sure. Garry, the Lynn Marie. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Good to know. Never thought of running the jets off them. I will try one, since I've never used it all Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  6. I have been wondering what folks run off their big planer boards. I have them on my boat, and I usually just put a leadcore or copper on them. I don't think folks run divers off them, and I don't know any other method to go deep. I would like to know what to run off my planers! Thanks in advance. 7. Yes thanks for taking the time to post your reports. They are few and far between from Olcott this year. I think you did very well for what seems to be tough year so far. You must have a good skill set. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. Still slow fishing. Got out late, around 8 am and fished until 11. Started at 250 FOW straight out. Trolled out to 365 FOW. Nothing. No marks, no bait balls. Trolled back South. Caught nice Steelhead at 300 fow, just as soon as my rigger stopped at 30 down. When we pulled out lines at 180 FOW we started seeing fish marks at only 25 feet down! I spent the day with riggers at 30 to 60, a chinook Diver out 160, a 200 copper, a 100 copper, and a 10 color LC on a side planer. All spoons except one Fly. 54 degrees surface, down 50 was 44 ish degrees. I did go through a couple horizontal temp breaks too. Hoping things improve for my last summer on the Lake! I will be taking the Lynn Marie to Corpus Christie. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. When I see it says 56 feet down or some odd reading, I think there must be a Reason. Is it because you saw a temp break? Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. We aren't even catching them at Olcott or Wilson! Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  12. Strange year isn't it? The reports seem sparse, and what you do see reported has not been good. I went out once from Olcott this year and got nothing. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  13. So sorry to hear of your Father's passing. It sounds like you had many years of sharing God's creation with him. I'm thankful for that. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  15. Started at about 6 am. Fished until 1030. Only had one bite. We went west all the way to Wilson. We marked fish. We marked bait. We tried everything. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  16. I have been running a triangle shaped flasher gizmo connected directly to the ball, and out a spoon above with a short lead, maybe 6 to 10 feet back. It catches fish. Same principle. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  17. Well good luck to your also! I think I would tow my boat to the atlantic instead of lake ontario though! I do love saltwater fishing. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  20. I'm not sure how my Grady white 22 foot is going to work. Might be too small for 30 miles out, and too big for many shallow bays they have. Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  22. Hello all. My wife decided we should move to San Antonio Texas so she can be closer to her mom and sister. She deserves it, so I'm making it happen. Probably move in November. I got my job transfer already. We have bought 15 acres out in the country and we're building a house. Lots of hog and deer tracks on it, and we flew down last week and we even saw a turkey gobbler. I hate to leave the great lakes fishing we have for Salmon on Ontario, and Walleye on Erie. One good thing is the house will be 2 hours from Corpus Christi, so I plan to keep the boat down there. I'm not sure how down riggers and fish hawks will be used in the bays and Gulf of Mexico, but I will find out. I am now thinking about selling my 9.8 kicker and getting a 40 or 60 get home motor in case I go way out in the gulf. Not sure what HP would be required to provide an advantage over the 9.8. Anyways that will come later. I'm looking forward to my last season on Lake Ontario and Erie. Tight Lines Friends! Sent from my moto z3 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
