  3. Fished from 2-8 this afternoon towards the south end by the family camp. We ended boating 10 fish all lakers biggest being a 9 pounder which was her PB. Best was 85-90ft and anywhere from 60 to 75 got us fish. A lot of fish and bait up high but no takers. Back at it in the morning. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  4. Going to head to Owasco this afternoon and leave the boat in for the weekend. Was wondering how others are making out. Haven’t fished her since the derby there. Cayuga has been good to me but the girlfriend really wants me to take her down for dinner at the lakeside restaurant so giving in. Any info is appreciated. 5. I switched to a 7’3” medium heavy fast action favorite defender bait casting setup with 20lb braid and a 12” flourocarbon leader (p-line cfx 12lb). I find the medium heavy rod handles the 3/4 to 1oz jigs a lot better and is still sensitive enough to pick up the subtle bites down deep. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  8. I shoot the gold tip kinetic pierce platinum arrows out of my triax. They are a bit pricey but hit like a freight train. Topped with a rage trypan. Rages get a lot of crap but I killed 4 deer with them last year and watched them all fall over. Even quartering shots were no issue. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  9. Actually I watched that video today. So I’ve got a couple pullers and going to pick up some threaded rod and just do it myself. Pretty self explanatory. Amazing what you can learn on YouTube. Pretty much a certified car mechanic thanks to the internet. On to getting an online degree from MMI. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  11. So I have gear case lube leaking out of the prop shaft seal. I took off the prop and got some fishing line out of there which I assume is why the seal is bad. Was wondering if anybody on here knew a good boat mechanic in the area. I am going to buy a gear case seal kit but would like it professionally taken care of. However I do all my own work on my vehicles and have all the proper tools to get the job done so if I have to I will give it a go. Any tips on DIY would be appreciated thank you. 12. Pair of brand new boatbuckle tie downs. They don’t fit on my trailer which is a shorelandr. They mount to the existing tabs or you can drill a hole in the trailer frame. Paid 60 at bass pro so will take 50. I’ll keep on here for a week or so then just send them back. Trying to avoid shipping though. Thanks for looking. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  13. Currently in the market for a 12v/54”/55lb set up for 17’ aluminum boat. Send me what you have. Plan on buying one new in the coming weeks so just seeing what’s out there. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  14. Don’t know if someone might of put a post up but haven’t seen any so I thought I would. I talked to Jack at the marina today and the derby is still a go. I don’t have much info other than it is 6/20-6/21 and must be signed up by 6/19. The South Shore Marina website has downloadable entries and you can sign up at the marina. If for some reason things change I will update but fingers crossed we can all add this to the dwindling tournament list. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  15. Yes we’ve done about a 57 average the last 5 years or so with hounds it all really depends on the weather and caliber of dog. But been lucky and it’s a real easy way to burn an entire winter and get back to fishing! Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  16. I have read multiple articles that say that the more coyotes you shoot the more pups they have. Don’t know how true that actually is but we run them with hounds and shoot anywhere from 50-100 a season. They are always back been hunting the same grounds for the last 12+ years Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  17. Hang on:Hawke Climber:Summit Viper SS also have a Lone wolf sit and climb but they aren’t for everyone. Ladder: I don’t sit in them anymore. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  18. Also if Teflon tape doesn’t work try heating your arrow up at the insert. Pull the insert out clean with isopropyl alcohol (insert and inside arrow shaft) then screw your heads on and put some glue or epoxy on it and then just turn the insert until the head is vertical. I do this for guys who shoot 2 blade Broadheads. More permanent application. Just make sure they are set up before removing heads Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  19. Just to add on to hard Knox post i have tried out many different Broadhead and arrow combinations over the years being young and always wanting the fancy new stuff. There are only two fixed blade Broadheads that I have shot with true field point accuracy and they are the WAC em line and QAD Exodus heads. Bigger fan of the Exodus Broadheads they have beefier blades and a shoulder smashing tip, learned from experience. However killed multiple deer with both and never any issues. Also x2 on the Teflon tape and yes I’ll t makes a difference on the stingers being vertical. If you can get them set up right you should see a good improvement on accuracy and groupings. Another factor that could be causing this is your fletchings. Any 2in vane arrow has trouble stabilizing in flight with bigger (blade diameter and overall length) Broadheads. Another reason why the Exodus Broadheads are as accurate as they are is the blades actually come back over the arrow giving them a lower profile while maintaining good cutting diameter. Not trying to sell you on Exodus heads just a good example for this. Sorry for the small rant but hope this helps out. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
  20. I have the Blacktiph Frog Toggs jacket and bib set and love them. Not too pricey either Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  22. Winchester makes special in-line primers that bass pro seems to always have. I ordered 1 pack to try and they accidentally sent me 10 packs so pretty much set for life. But have had no issue and the gun always is consistent. Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

  24. My father shoots the Lightfield mag hybrids out of his 220 and I’ve seen him take deer out around 200 yards. Guns zeroed at 100 gets about an average of a 1 3/4 group. In my opinion for a slug gun you can’t beat it. Honestly though it’s a bit expensive but the best thing is to buy a few different brands and paper test them see what works for you Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United
