  1. Crazy. Found a pod of a good class out 350-400. Ran em over and ended up with 20ish to the boat. We never got to sit down. A triple (with 2 guys) multiple doubles and a line going every few minutes. We hit the water around 530 and pulled lines by 9. Absolute slaughter fest. Best night of fishing ever. Everything took fish. Spoon (mag, black/green w/silver back) took the big girl @22#, 198 dipsy on 3.5. Meat was hot too. Big paddles all colors worked. Fish were spread from 40-80 feet down. They seem to like the 50° temp right now. One nice steel and one Skippy the rest were all good fish. Also had my first giant lamprey encounter. He will never latch on to a fish again. Had the coast guard creep up as well, the big boat. They kept coming closer and finally came to the boat, we slowed down to about 1-1.2 they asked if we saw any boats in distress and flashing their lights, we hadn't seen any boats so they slowly cruised on, as I turned around, bang, fish on. They stuck around for the net job then took off. Made me laugh. Wish I had the GoPro going for that one. Fishing is on fire, get out there! Sent from my XT1650 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  6. I have okuma rods and reels. 45's with a 9'6" for inside and 10'6" for outside. Wires. I'm pleased. Sent from my XT1650 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  8. I wish you the best of luck. Watching my 4yr old crank in kings are things I'll be able to relive till I'm gone. Savor it. Get some !! Sent from my XT1650 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. Forgot to mention. Fleas were heavy. I didn't have time to spool up any sea flee before we went and ended up cutting / re tie instead of picking and flicking. Sent from my XT1650 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. Took a friend out who never caught a salmon before. That changed ! Ran out northeast to 140 where the first bait showed on the screen. Setup on a west troll, took 3 shots and 3 misses. Ran another 45min-hr on hunt and had a clear screen. Pulled lines and ran back to original spot, setup on a east troll, graph got better and water got better. Landed one 12# and decided to hunt straight north. Game on. Filled the box (he wanted meat and has 5 kids to feed) and tossed a few healthy ones back. Only one Skippy in the mix. All were 12-18# with one big momma who didn't fit in the box. Ended up in the 430 range and when we pulled lines the graph was covered with giant hooks. Everything took fish except the 8+10 color bonus rods. Fish were loving the 55° temp. Was typically around 60-75 down. Flashers, meat, spoons. Variety of colors. Deep and high. Big girl swallowed the meat on the 61 rigger. Lake was flat and the action was solid. Sent from my XT1650 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. They were in there already. Call me petty, but since I couldn't find grey seat cushions I ended up buying grey seats, lol. I'm about 45 min from springville. Sent from my XT1650 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  12. Dan. Not gonna lie, I laughed a bit when she dove. Great job holding stuff together. Luckily you had some hands on the boat to help. Good stuff bro,as always. Sent from my XT1650 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  15. Right ducer is step one, then make sure all "info" is set to local, not global on ducer settings. Might also need to be set to "this unit" Sent from my XT1650 using Lake Ontario United mobile app

  17. I just realized, I never really posted a good set of completed pics. Still have a few things to tidy up but fishing is top priority. I will get some pics up asap Sent from my XT1650 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  18. LadyO loves all kinds of dipsys. She doesn't care brand, size, color, shape, smell..... She will take em all !! Sent from my XT1650 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  19. I agree. Cover ground with sticks and forget the worms. Downspeed 2.2-2.3, graph will prob show 2.5-2.6. Don't be shy with the speed. I never had to hunt them and stayed on the same stretch all week, hit 30fow and trolled west from Lewis point. Even a couple deep divers off boat and do S turns through 29-34fow is a stupid simple program that will work. Sent from my XT1650 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  20. Rigger took 1 fish Sent from my XT1650 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  21. Forget the riggers unless you have a probe. Went out last night for a "meat" run. Box was full in an hour and ended up catching 20+ fish. No giants but all great eaters. Sent from my XT1650 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  22. Only used them for browns. I think I took 1 fish but didn't run them alot. I bought smallest size. Seemed to run fine. Sent from my XT1650 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  23. Get some leadcore for browns. U don't need giant reels or line counters. Low leads will always have a place for you if your targeting browns. There's a company "Chinook stainless divers" out of Rochester and a few guys run those with success for browns. Can be run with a heavy mono or braid setup, smaller line counters will be perfect for that. A nice collection of spoons and stickbaits are all you need. A handful of natural colors for the green/ gin water and some bright oranges / greens for stained water. I'm no expert these are just my experiences. Others will also chime in with better intel too. Good luck ! Sent from my XT1650 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
