My 15yo has become a pretty avid fisherman and likes the challenge of carving his own path outside of our salmon/bass trips. He is super focused on bullhead! Any decent spots between Rochester and the Finger Lakes?

Brown was a couple of weeks ago out of I Bay on a Thinfish.

Lots of good spots between Rochester and finger lakes.  I look for low current or slack water areas with shallow water and reeds even if there is faster current outside of it.  Muddy bottom is key too.  North and south ends of any finger lake and Seneca river are all good and all produce well at different times during the spring consistently.

Great spot for bullhead is north end of Conesus lake. Lots of bait works but the best for me is shrimp. It’s so much easier and less messy than chicken livers. Stays on hooks longer. Don’t waste your time if it’s not blowing from the south. The bigger the crashing waves the better. The south end is excellent but the limited shore line can be a problem. I find the south end good fishing no matter where the wind direction.
