I was out this morning. 50 degrees was at 70'. Seems like we get one day were they are biting good and two days its not so good. But there are some nice ones around. We boxed by 10:30 and let one 8.5-9 lb go then landed a 25.7 lb. Yesterday I fished solo for a brown and a stealhead.

I fished towards Fair Haven today out of Sodus.

Water temps were the same as above, lots of bait in that 130 to 140, but the mature kings were in 170 to 180 down 82 to 92

I normally fish towards Oswego in the trench. I have caught a lot of fish there. I’m a big oak orchard guy really like that water as well. One of my biggest fish I ever caught was at the bar combat fishing in the fall lol. I like fair haven I have been coming here for years. Spring brown are crazy fun. One thing is for sure with a little intel you can save a bunch of time. Thanks for responding

For me so far this King season its been tough matching up the spoon with what they will hit, they seem to be very selective.

The one consistent thing has been chrome backed spoons, no whites ot golds.

So last year 42nd spoon, gold back, was a killer, this year, no interest.

But a similar ladderback with chrome on the back was the only spoon hit in the last two trips.

I think its an Oscar.

I have a green/chrome board thats been consistant too.

They seem to be very fussy and my go to conbos from the last several years just arent getti g the fish!

Just a little tidbit to maybe try

Well couldn’t get anyone out of bed this morning so I’m watching from the deck. Yeah I ran the 42 sec yesterday. I also ran a black with green and white ladder and the spoon I n ver catch anything on but everyone say it works the carbon 14. I ran 42 sec spin doctor with stud fly. I also ran a white paddle with a fly. Switched to a chrome with black and green dots and a stud fly. They followed just didn’t like it. I’m hoping I can get some people out of bed tomorrow and get back out.

It was tough weather for us today but we fished from 6am to 3 pm. Only landed 7 with 2 over 20 lbs. Seems like an ok day but that is quite a few hours in a bag of West wind. 6 spoon bites one flasher fly.

My two friends came in today so we are hitting it at 5:30. Got a couple of green black ladder backs going to try. Barometric pressure isn’t good right now hopefully it straightens out. I’m going to start at the 80-100 and see what happens. Good luck to everyone fishing tomorrow and stay safe!

Hey Ski. I'm new to the fishery, was fishing out of sodus this week. It was a grind. I don't think I caught a single salmon after 9 am or before 6 pm, had a few good bites early or late evening but for the most part it was pretty tough. I would get out there before sunrise and try a bit shallower and slide out a bit later. Picked up a few on spoons and meat rigs but flasher fly definitely took the most fish. I was curious about the spoon behind a flasher too, ran one for an hour or 2 and got a small first year king lol. Good luck out there.

Got out about 6:30 this morning. Started in 110 foot of water. Marked a ton of fish and lots of bait. I got one nice 25lb fish and had one get off on a wire diver.

It was tough weather for us on Friday but we fished from 6am to 3 pm. Only landed 7 with 2 over 20 lbs. Seems like an ok day but that is quite a few hours in a bag of West wind. 6 spoon bites one flasher fly.

Me and my son fished from 5:30-4 went 12/15 with several over 20lbs. We started out in 165-190 then at noon we went out to 550-650.

Only one bite on a meat rig not landed the rest on spoons.

My buddy and I were out yesterday. Fished with everyone 90 to 150 fow. Like everyone has said lots of bait and marks but few takers. We got 1 there. Trolled out deep and got steady action and fish in 450 to 550 fow. Got takers from 70 to 110 down on spoons, flies and meat. The key for us was switching to big paddles on the flies and meat. Silver and white paddles on our divers with a stud glow meat rig on one and a crinkle green fly on the other did most of the damage. Ran them down 100 and 110. We were west out of Fair Haven straight out from Port Bay. Marked some decent pods of bait as well.
