2026 Wilson Harbor Invitational/Slam/1K and Reelin For A Cure

Just a reminder that the 1K a Day and Slam begin May 9th.  These events are open to any team/boats and participation in the WHI is not required.  The WHI registration (no late fee) ends May 9th at midnight but teams can enter up til the captains meeting (with late fee)

Also, the WHI/GLSE has partnered with Reelin' For A Cure and are selling tickets on line.  Tickets are available to the public (See below for more INFO).  So, help support  a great cause and have a shot at winning a $750 prize package.

IMPORTANT 1K a Day update: Rule Change

Due to the current lack of 20# kings being caught across Lake Ontario, the minimum weight for the 1K has been reduced to 17# for salmon. The entries are currently down and this is one of the reasons. Also, we do not want an excessive roll over or possible no pay out at all? Based on what is being caught, communication with DEC boat checks and LOC results, 17# seems to be the new #20 for 2026.

Also, anyone catching a 17# king would also be weighing same fish in for the SLAM if they are in that as well. So, this will not lead to unnecessary killing.

The 1K rules allow for rules to be changed prior to the event.
