My 86 year old uncle who I fished Lake O with every summer and Lake Huron and Michigan hasn’t salmon fished in awhile. Lake Huron hasn’t had them in his area for years. He decided to join my family at Lake Oahe in SD. We had an epic trip. Nonstop action and many 12-15lb fish, highlights with our last fish north of 20lbs. He was so excited his thumb covers half the fish pictures and my daughters got their first. My cousin in law got her first as well. Still seems crazy to fish them in SD.

Wow, I had no clue about that fishery. I know about the walleye but not kings. Was this a move to reduce bait levels?

I live in Colorado, so not sure on the reasons, can look into it, but it certainly is fun.
