trolling crank baits for trout

I have wondered the same. I tried it last year but all we did was wash them off I tried a couple different colors but didnt have any luck.

We constantly use crank baits in the winter. The location of the thermo cline has much to do with the top water bite, in other words the higher the thermo cline is it compresses the trout into a smaller water colume! The past 2 years the top water bite has been slow on Cayuga and the cline has been deep. Why?? I wish someone could answer that.

Must be some experts out there on this subject!

last years browns came off of a crank baits, run off of the otter boards with snap weights. 30FT>1oz.>120ft slower the better!!

I use a lot of crank baits between the middle of May till the 2nd week of June, in 20-30 fow. Always have good luck with Rapala's j-9 and smaller.
