With a small boat you need to watch your weather very carefully and see what the weather is like not just the day your going out but for the next day just so that nothing blows in when your out there. DON'T EVER believe what the forecast is also you have to be there to see exactly what the conditions are like I have many times went to the launch just to see how badly the lake was still rolling from the previous day. I would also fish during the morning hours all lakes are 100% calmer in the mornings till about noon before the sun and boat traffic gets the water moving again. The boat should be O.K. as long as your not out there in the rough stuff and just remember no fish is worth loosing your life over.
