Drift Boat Trailer

Thanks for the post. Looking for trailer that is actually built to fit the rocker of a drift boat bottom. If you set a drift boat on those trailers it would rock like a rocking horse. Drift boat trailers have bunks or a long roller (4 feet) that run perpendicular to trailer frame length. Thanks though, appreciate the thought.

You could always just modify a regular bunk trailer by putting a couple of horizontal cross members on top of the bunks or remove the bunks all together and put horizontal members on it....you can then use strips of UHMW on those cross members to help with wear and lower the effort it takes to winch it up on to the trailer due to the fact that there is no roller on the end of the trailer to help... I've seen a few home made DB trailers like that which worked...of course the boat had to be ratchet strapped down to the trailer during transport....

Yes I've thought of that. But the boat I built has quite a bit of rocker, so the frame has to be wide enough so that the boat bottom (at it's lowest and widest point) can sit between it. Don't want the boat way up above the frame, it would make floating it off the trailer at a launch difficult. I've checked into buy new to retrofit, but having to buy a wider trailer, which would normally be for a heavier boat, adds to the cost and then I still have to retrofit. The boat has a HMW skid shoe on bottom. Thanks for your advise.
