Sunday 8/19 Dunkirk

Recommended Posts

Fished the first 2 hour or so with no bites in the 70 fow area.

Moved out to 90 fow and it got much better.

Ended up with 12 eyes, 2 lakers (released) and 1 steelhead.

Easily dropped another 7-8 fish....guys slow on the rods today.

Little bit of everything....5 color with a rainbow yo-zuri; watermelon

harness and a stinger scorpion monkey puke on the little slides

200-210 back; 185 on the wire, yeck watermelon and watermelon

harness. 10 color down the chute with a big hatchet blade. 60-70

rigs stinger purple parrot and gold watermelon and watermelon

yeck.

1.7-1.8 at the ball.

9 degree temp break at 60 fow...very unusual for Erie.

Off to the Oak for a few days Thursday!

I realize this is a Lake Ontario forum, but considering the number of members here that fish all over the region, I'm hoping someone can give me some into. (Admins, if this topic would be better in a different subforum, please feel free to move it).   Anyway, we'll be fishing out of Dunkirk this Saturday on Erie's eastern basin for Spring Lakers and I was wondering if any of you have fished out of this port before. Mainly trying to figure out some good general zones to target Char but

    • Olcott. August 18 2019, Sunday.

Had to stay in Port while some bad weather moved through. Then after an hour or so we went out about 730. We saw 68 degrees at the mouth of harbor, then about 66 degrees at 190 FOW. But we decided to keep going out. We stopped at 384 FOW. It was 68 degrees on surface 45 degrees 50 to 60feet down. We trolled north. Hit 495 FOW. Surface went to about 70 with 45 degrees 70 feet down. Pretty stable. Stay between 450 and 495 most of the time. Quit at 1330. We got 2 Kings, and 5 steelhead. One kin

Just plain easy limits in Dunkirk right now. We took my brother and niece out this morning and had a 4 person limit in three and a half hours. Threw back a few big ones as well. All sticks on riggers and three to eight color cores. Eight rod spread is all I wanted at times. Fished 65 fow west in front of the two water towers. She had a ball.       Sent from my iPhone using Lake Ontario United

    • Sampson Sunday

Wanted to go deep out of Hughes but wind report turned us off so Liney and I decided to try Seneca, haven't been there since Memorial day. We launched out of Sampson, hey they resurfaced the road into the park down to the circle, too bad they didn't keep going. Marina is beautiful and we where only trailer parked on lower parking. We decided to go start south of Long point and came north to Kashong. We didn't mark many fish at first but tons of bait. Once we got into the area off Angus we had a
