Replacing Alt.

Hank, question on the old chris craft. The Alt went bad, had it rebuilt, installed it, and it would only kick out 10 volts. After looking at it, noticed that the main housing behind the pulley is broken. I am unable to locate another ALT for the ford interceptor, but was quoted $300-$400 to have another one made (really not an option). I am planning to rewire everything anyways, can I buy another self exciting marine alt. and wire it in (one for a chevy or chrysler)? I am sure I'll have to build new brackets not an issues either. Thanks for the info.

Sorry I didnt get back before now. Give me a call. I'll mail you the number and yes you can put a delco on it. Not a problem. Starter for the 50hp might be.
