What do you plan on using it to film? They are not meant for taking video at any kind of distance. A 30 yard bowshot is very hard to see when viewed later, looks like the target is much farther away because the camera has such a wide angle lense and no zoom feature. If you plan on filming yourself on shot or mounting it to a decoy for close up views of game they work well. If you want a primary video camera to film animals and shots then I would recommend a hand held video camera with a tree arm or tripod rather than an action cam. Also gun or bow mounting an action can makes for very shaky hard to watch video.

I mounted mine on the windshield inside the hardtop, and it’s worked pretty well, especially when it's choppy outside. If you're trying to keep costs down or just want something simpler, you might want to look into GoPro alternatives. Some of them have decent image quality and decent mounts, plus they don't sting as much if they end up at the bottom of the lake.
