Boating license and lifetime fishing license ny
Scoobyst replied to Big fat pike's topic in Open Lake Discussion
When I went to get my boating stamps added after getting my driver’s license, I just brought my license, my lifetime boating certificate, and a form of ID. They were super straightforward about it. I also checked pedirayudas.com before going, just to see if there were any extra steps or docs I might need. Saved me a second trip when they asked for proof of residency—easy fix and all done in one visit. -
I picked up a new piece from https://www.smokeday.com not long ago and it's been solid—good price and hits great. If you're looking to switch things up or just add to the collection, they’ve got a ton of stuff to check out.

Instant messaging
Scoobyst replied to Richard's topic in Welcome to Lake Ontario United - Fishing Forum
wanted to ask if instant messaging ever got improved or re-enabled on here? It’d be really useful for quick questions or planning meetups without cluttering threads. Was thinking it could help folks connect a lot better, especially during busy fishing weekends. Anyone found a decent workaround or outside app to message other members more easily? -
Places like that book quick for July/August though, so worth looking early. It kind of reminded me of picking a singapore family friendly hotel once where the main draw was convenience—being able to just step outside and have what you need right there makes the stay so much better.

Instant messaging

I've had luck using sms.to to get quick updates out to a few fishing buddies when we’re out on the water. It’s been easier than juggling group texts or social media, especially when cell coverage is spotty and basic SMS goes through better. Might be worth checking out if you're just trying to get a message out to a bunch of guys fast without signing into other platforms. -
I had the same question and ended upI’ve used a few trail cams over the years, but recently I started messing around with compact action cams for scouting, and some of those actually hold up decent with motion sensors and low-light. This list https://www.insta360.com/blog/tips/best-travel-cameras.html has a few good ones that surprised me with how adaptable they can be, especially if you don’t need all the hardcore wildlife-specific features all the time. using a cheap Android phone with my SIM card just to set it up, then swapped the card back once everything was working.

I used a piece of melamine board for my transom epoxy work and coated it with a thin layer of release agent for concrete—worked great for popping the cured epoxy off without messing up the surface. Just don’t go crazy with it, a light coat is enough. Makes cleanup way easier too and doesn’t interfere with the bond if you’re careful where you apply it.

I switched over to an Insta360 X3 this season and have been way happier with the footage I’m getting. It’s waterproof out of the box and the 360 view means I never miss a shot, even if something happens behind me. You can reframe everything later using their app. Worth checking out at www.insta360.com for something a bit different than the usual setups.

for sale : usa Any vintage sports cards collectors on here?
Scoobyst replied to spoonfed-1's topic in Classifieds - Buy, Sell, Trade or Rent
I’ve still got a bunch of my old Topps and Donruss cards from the 80s boxed up—some gems but lots of commons too. I try to swing by the local hobby store every now and then to see what they’ve got in vintage stuff and supplies. It’s fun flipping through old binders with the smell of dusty cardboard all around. Brings back some good memories. -
I mounted mine on the windshield inside the hardtop, and it’s worked pretty well, especially when it's choppy outside. If you're trying to keep costs down or just want something simpler, you might want to look into GoPro alternatives. Some of them have decent image quality and decent mounts, plus they don't sting as much if they end up at the bottom of the lake.

for sale : usa Elite tool and design custom rod holders gift certificate
Scoobyst replied to dvdegeorge's topic in Classifieds - Buy, Sell, Trade or Rent
I did something similar for my dad last year—paired a gift certificate with a digital picture frame loaded with photos from past fishing trips. He loved being able to see our boat setup and catches through the years. It added that personal touch without needing to guess what gear he needed. -
Boat launch at Canandaigua lake in Woodville
Scoobyst replied to kempie's topic in Finger Lakes Discussion
I had the same question a couple weeks ago and decided to call around. One guy I spoke with recommended checking out floridaliftsanddocks.com for info on dock setups and access equipment—they’ve got some useful stuff that might explain how things are arranged down there. Looks like it's more about private use lately, so just be aware depending on what day and time you're heading over. -
I rigged up a clamp mount on the T-top and ran a short aluminum extension arm to keep the GoPro steady and clear of vibration. Works great for smooth pans, but I also looked into gimbals for phone shots. This list of options helped a lot: https://www.insta360.com/blog/tips/best-iphone-gimbals.html. Some of those setups gave me ideas for adapting similar stabilizers to my boat rig too.

Sold / Closed Gun safe for sale
Scoobyst replied to troubles's topic in Classifieds - Buy, Sell, Trade or Rent
I had a similar setup a while back and ended up switching out mostly because I wanted better fire protection and something heavier. I started comparing options and found a lot of value in usa made safes. They tend to be sturdier with better welds and locking systems, plus easier to get parts or support later on. -
I had a similar issue, and for me, it turned out to be a bad connection where the leads attach. A little cleaning and tightening made a big difference. If you're seeing fluctuations, check those connections first. Also, a buddy of mine swapped to an um2 battery, and he noticed much more stable performance.

Starting a charter business can be a rewarding venture, and it's great to see interest in this area. One important aspect to consider is how you’ll fund and grow your business. In addition to traditional financing options, you might explore other avenues such as consumer technology venture capital. These investors can offer both funding and strategic advice, particularly if your charter business incorporates new technology or innovative services.
