Scotty downriggers

Having trouble with 2 of my Scotty downriggers with the brake slipping. Wondering if anyone has had the same problem. Had to shut one of them down because the brake would not hold.

Never had that problem, but I do know there is a belt tension adjustment under the lid. sounds like the belt maybe got wet and was slipping.

One of mine, I noticed, was doing that this weekend. I figured moisture to be the culprit as it was a wet weekend. It is something to look out for and thank you Tim for the info on the adjustment.

Thanks guys. It drove me nuts. I almost threw it in the water. YT you going to be at the Niagra bar again this weekend? Lenny was on my boat he yelled to you guys a few times in passing on Saturday.
