Spin doctor and flies

I've always had more success using spoons vs sd and fly combo. Are there any tips you can share? How long a lead do you use for the fly behind sd? What speed are you trolling? Do you go with big circle or small circle set up?

most leaders are 23" from flasher to fly.....but some days they want 18" others they want 32".......speed is from 1.8 to 2.8.....I run em however they come out of the package
