Ugly stick Big water 8.3 ft light action

Recommended Posts

I’m looking to pull the trigger on 8 of these rods but I’m concerned about them being too flimsy for running inline boards and pulling 10 colors or copper any one with experience with these rods any info would help thanks!

I have two of these rods and I used them as downrigger rods only. I find them to much light for inline board or heavy lines.

I have a bunch of the 8'3' ugly sticks. There a good rigger rod for spoons on LO. or walleye on Erie .To light for in line boards IMHO. I like the Okuma CP-LT-762M 12-20 lb. Just ordered 2 more today. Getting ready for L. Erie walleye campaign.Good Luck!!

Just a mention. The 9 ft. ugly stick light action is a great rigger rod. Been using the for 25+ years. Don't worry that hey call it light action. My biggest King just shy of 40 lbs caught on that rod.

The ONLy thing I wouldn’t run these rods for is copper >300 or inline planers. For literally every other application they are the bees knees
