Town of Seward has a accessible small tributary on the opposite side of the bay from town. You can wade out into the water and cast vibrax spinners (orange treble dressing) or Cleos for pinks and silvers. Go down in the evening. All along the coast the tribs are loaded with salmon, dolly varden and grayling. Don’t fish the tribs near towns. Park you car and hike upstream to find water to yourself. Gear to bring is a spinning rod for hucking lures, a fly rod, streamers, egg patterns, and dry flies for grayling and white fish. You can catch Sole off the mouths of tribs by fishing skein chunks on bottom rigs. Make sure you check regs. Every stream has individual regs. Some are closed.

Ninilchik charter's I have used in the past. Hunted and fished out of Homer and the kenai river with them . They do float trips from Seward. Great people and reasonable rates. Stayed in there cottages a couple of times as well that was a real bargain and great resterant near buy . Bring your rain coat!

    • Boys trip to Oswego 7/20-7/22

Got to do a quick three day trip to Oswego with my son, brother-in-law and my nephew this past weekend. We showed up around 11 AM on Saturday in fished until about 5 PM when the wind started to blow.  We went five for six and never really found a pattern as they were hitting both flyers and spoons of different colors. The thermocline was only 61 feet down and the fish all came from this area. Sunday morning we launched at 5 AM and immediately knew from the waves it would probably be a short day.

    • Back from my week trip to the Oak

Just got back from a few days at the Oak and happened to have the rare day with Atlantics.  My sons holding a 8.5, 7.5, and 6.5 pound Atlantic in the same morning.  Broke off what we thought was a larger one on a Lance Two Face after catching those three in the same vicinity.  Completed the day with kings to 25 + lbs, 2 steelhead and 3 browns.  Didn't have time to run offshore to find a coho though.     Inconsistent temps, currents and action for us during the week.  Fished 22' to 550'
