  1. Here is his response - "Yes we are and have some on hand, just been too busy to pursue any kind of sales." I'm going to see how he wants to go about selling the ones he has. I have direct contact info, but I'm not sure he wants is a bunch of fisherman calling him randomly. I believe he runs a plastic injection molding company, and being a fisherman he wanted something to do exactly what you guys are looking for. Give me a few more days to find out how he wants to handle anyone who might be interested in buying some. I'm leaving today to begin practice for the Orleans event, so I might not get an update until Sunday or Monday.
  2. We use these, and they work real nice. Let me see if they are still making them. Here are some pics of them:
  3. I am running the Navionics Platinum Plus, but for fishing I hear the Fishing Chip for Lake Ontario is better and shows contours better. The Platinum Plus is great for navigation and coming into new harbors.
  4. We apologize for the delay. I don't want to go into why it was delayed, but we are working on making this information available immediately following the event in 2013.
  5. More so on a turn.....if your running 500 coppers to get to fish a 3 setting isn't the most efficient way to get to those fish anyway.
  6. If you live in Avon....try Gander Mtn. If your around the FL's Bass Pro has to have it.
  7. We are kinda opposite everyone else. We find where 60 degree water drops to 59 degree water and keep the probe rigger there, and then put everything else below that. Come mid August you will see a lot of big kings in warm water because that's where the food is. Do we always keep a deep rigger in that 38-45 degree temp? Absolutely, and preferably with a meat rig. You will find those low 40s temps fairly easy on the West end, but on the East end it can be real difficult, but for some reason those big Kings will sit in that bath water, and i think a lot of it has to do with them getting ready to shoot those rivers in a month. You also have to remember to ditch the temp thing and just use that probe for a speed indicator when your seeing marks out of temp.
  8. We would prefer someone who lives near Bluffers Park. You are more than welcome to fish with us on Friday. Need to be available for Saturday and Sunday (if there is a blow we fish Sunday). We will pay $100 for the day. Also looking for an observer for the August 4th event in Bluffers. Please call me at 585-704-7996 or e-mail me at [email protected]
  9. A buddy of mine is selling a Raymarine unit a little bigger than the one your looking at. I love my birds, but whatever fits the budget and gets you out there! You don't need side imaging. So, look for a 750 series....it might be a little cheaper. viewtopic.php?f=10&t=32148
  10. The only thing you gain is the screen size. Same OS from what I understand. Check some of your settings. Here is what we use: Water Type - Salt Deep Surface Clutter - 3 Noise Filter - Med to High 1 Switchfire - On You need to make sure you have the transducer type selected to dual or in the case of the B60 the 50/200 ducer. Take range off Auto, and adjust it to 10' below the actual bottom, or when your deep keep it locked on the top 150 or 200'. All of this helps your picture. Try those settings and see if it helps. I'd be surprised if you couldn't use that ducer with the unit you have now. I do know when you put on a B60 you have to go into the settings and select it. Otherwise it will try to use another type of ducer. That ducer isn't a Humminbird specific ducer. Although it works just fine b/c we've used it, but only on units in the 9 series or higher. I thought I knew someone on here who used it for a 7 series.
  11. I have DW painting some up right now for me. If you can get your local tackle shop to order some from him it shouldn't be a problem since he will be painting mine. [ Post made via Android ]
  12. I've been trying to get my hands on some SSW for quite some time. Especially the mags. They aren't painting spoons anymore. Rather they are imaging. The ones I've seen in some of the West end tackle shops aren't what they used to be. Those owners are actually quite disappointed with the look of them, and I was told were sending them back to NK. It's a shame! Those spoons and their paint jobs rocked! They took a lot of fish. Pat was a great guy, and John is too, but unless they start painting again it might be the beginning of the end. BAZOOKAJOE - Those paint jobs look great! I'd be interested for sure! Are those dimple lite mags? The two on the bottom next to the SSW's look fishy too!

  15. Don't hesitate to stop at Rochester. They had some good reports last weekend. That's an hour or so short of Wilson. They were doing the Kings West of Rochester about 4-6 miles. They were mixed in with suspended Lakers. To top it off I guess you can also find some nice temp breaks out deep and hit up some Steelie action according to King Me's reports.
  16. Sweet report! I hope they stay there for the weekend!
  17. We are tossing around the idea of opening it up to Pro members. Only downfall is moderating it. What do you guys think about that?
  18. That's hilarious!

  20. Thursday 5/17 - We left the dock at 7am, and proceeded to head out to 100’ of water NE of Wilson. We worked the water from the Red Barn to the Microwave in 100-150’ of water for the entire day. Our program consisted of our three Cannon DT10’s with spoons and either a free or fixed cheater, three wire divers pulling Walker Deeper Divers trailed by either flasher/fly combos or spoons, two coppers with flasher/fly combos, and 4 surface lines pulling red body baits. Little did we know that the surface lines were going to be so hot! The Brads Thin Fish and the Challenger Lady Bug just clobbered the Steelies. The first few were throw backs, but the last 6 bites were all nice size Steelies, and boy were they acrobatic! The bite wasn’t as good as it had been the last few weeks, but we had our bites. The fish seemed to be good at getting unbuttoned on this day. Friday 5/18 - We saw a monster box come in from the power plant on Thursday, so we headed there on Friday to see if they were still willing to play. When we dropped in it didn’t take long, and we had our first King in the boat. After that it slowed a little until we get further East. The fishing picked up again, but it would shut down late morning when the NE winds began to blow. Our program was the same as Thursdays, but the surface stuff wasn’t nearly as productive. Our Cannon DT10’s really were the ticket on this day. Later in the day we ran meat down deep, and it pulled a few shots on Kings, but most of the day it was various spoons that did the damage. Again, we got our bites despite a difficult transitional type day. Saturday 5/19 - I was told that we needed to get two Salmon on this trip to make it successful! Easy enough! The guys wanted their wives to battle the famous Lake O Shark! So, when they stopped by the boat on Friday evening I told them to be back and ready to go by 5am. We wanted to see if we could score an early bite on some big guys! 5am rolled around, and we were pushing off from the dock. We strolled out to 50’ of water and the screen was lit up! We were able to get our three Cannon DT10s in and while my back was turned getting the diver rod ready the Sea Sick Waddler on the corner rigger fired, and we were tied into a good one. That fish hit the deck, and we set out both divers and a 10 color. Five minutes later, and the 10 color is zipping! Teenager #2 in the box that took a Moonshine Carbon 14. After that fish the screen really started to fade away. We swung in one more time, but the moss had invaded our area. We pointed the boat North and made our way out to 350’ before we would turn and head back into 175’. WE picked fish the whole way out. Mostly smaller Kings and Cohos. Our program consisted of our three Cannon DT10’s, two Walker Deeper Divers pulling flasher/fly combos, two coppers pulling flasher/fly combos, and three flat-lines pulling red body baits. MVP’s today were the flat-lines, and the lines fished off our Cannons. Sliders did real well too. No one spoon out did another, and we were running the same stuff we have been running the past few weeks. The area from 175’-250’ seemed to hold the best picture right out front of Wilson. Fish were in the top 90’ streaking through our gear constantly. By 10am we were done with our four man limit, and headed back in to the dock to clean some fish.
