Steve: Thanks for the atta boy But your right about Jasper. Seen too many problems with them in marine use. Esp. outdrives. Draggin: If you have to repower. Go with a 350 instead of a 305. Everything will transfer over the same with no problems. Plus the extra HP.

Ck you re pm's in a few minutes.
-
LMAO: I'll look into temp and oil pressure deal for you or send a link where you can buy what you need. It really isn't a big deal or that expensive to set it up unless you want to go high tech.

What are you running for power #1. I/O or outboard? Sides. Keep your eyes off the other gender and watch the gauges.

Ck the faq. page here for coverage etc. http://www.durabakcompany.com/faq.htm#2

Must a been thinkin about a new boat.

Tom: The guy pretty much covered it all. Very informative article. Especially his sense of humor and the truth: 1st thing I tell my client's or anyone turning green is Stay Out Of the Cabin & head. Jim: I haven't seen that product. But I have the older style wrist bands on the boat if anyone needs them and they seem to do a good job for some of my guy's that are prone to getting sick. On another note as he said if your using Dramamine I tell them to start taking it the night before. Getting up in the morning eat breakfast take one or 2 with your coffee just before they get on the boat. Doesn't cut it.

Rich: If the temps next week are going to be what they say and not a lot of wind. Next weekend for sure. Just watch where your going and be careful. We had skim ice here on the bay yesterday morning, so the water temp is bout right if it gets in the teens next week.

Whew: When Tim started this post I had no idea it would go this far. I was just stating what I've found over the year's. But I guess ole dog's can learn a few new tricks as well. Not disputing the sent deal as I've seen it work drifting or pan fishing bass, at times in shallower water. Just still not so sure about deep water lake fishing. This aw-ta get ya all going tho. I'm interested in the input. Good discussion.
-
Tom; Where are you located. I might be able to help you out.
-
Jim I'll have to take back part of that statement. I have seen it work better in the rivers and creeks drift fishing at times with egg sacks. But that's a different story compared to deep water or lake trolling. We use to cure ower own in borax with anise along with it and certain days it did make a difference drifting.

I agree: Been the wd-40 rout and all the other's. Pay attention to your speed, temp. or mark's on the sonar and presentation and have at it. All the scent's they sell aren't going to do anything but make the manufacturer line his pocket. Just my 2 cent's

Tim: I'm thinking summer is over the way it is t'day. But we'll see what the weekend brings.
-
Red: I agree with you 100% A lot I've talked to both Pro & Am aren't doing it this year because of that rule. The rest of the new rule package are a great effort to get things unified for all 4 ports. But open comm? I don't think so.
-
Andy: What are you tring to say here? I think I kn where your going with it. But?
-
I'm not talking about the rest of the crew, but I'm out with the newly posted rules. This use to be a very prestigious tournament . Not so now with open communication. In the Pro as well as Am what happened to doing it you're own way and see where it falls. I think the board members of this tournament should stop and reconsider there decision. There has been a lot of input on the open communications on a lot of boards including this one and it has been no communications.

Tim Let me know. Sat. I have to be at Savannah Dhu (Conegell's ) in the A.M. with the boy for a meeting for the youth hunt program they have. But the boat is hear and you're good ta go. I'll be back mid afternoon. If you want to get together Sunday I'm free all day.
-
Bill I use to run 50# Stren. Now I am using 40# fluoro no problems at all. We all use 47's. Just watch your drag settings. Chinook: I don't run the bands or the clips just straight off the reel. If i can hear it clicking out every now and then i kn it's right. Keepers: Small boat is still in the water. LOL If ya want to use it it's here, doesn't look like a lot of ice in the near future.

Tom : I'm with you 100%. I only do the Sodus deal & Oswego altho I wasn't on the boat at Oswego last year. If it's going to be a tru Po-Am. Leave it the way it was. NO communication. I have never seen a problem with this in the past. Everyone put the phns away including the observer and the radio was on 16 for emergencies or start or quit time. As far as Paul stated in the above post about the home boy having an advantage> Yes they do with open com.. We all fish those waters and between private channels and cell's do you think if we were aloud to use them that it wouldn't make a difference? There are a few that are out every day on charters that aren't in the Pro-Am and can direct you to whats going on between friends. Sad deal all the way around. This is not a hard rule to enforce. That's what it is and it's not that hard to enforce, unless you are bound on cheating. And as you said: I'm not sure I'll do it this year at all. Might as well do the LOC with my customers as this is the way I see this going.

To each his own. I was just offering a tip that's worked well over the last 20 years or so day in and out.
-
Years back I ran snubbers, but I have found they are not necessary at all. #1 More terminal tackle to beak ( snaps etc. as well as the extra drag at the dipsy) #2 They impair the action of the lure your using. If you run a good grade 40 or 50lb leader off the dipsy clean and pay attention to your drag setting ( loose enough so you can here it clicking out every now and then ) you will have no problems. I can't remember the last time we have lost a fish on the wire due to breakage unless we were hung on bottom
-
Just venting. But the open communication thing isn't right. If that's the case why do we need an observer. You can come in with X number of fish Pro or Am. They were there to collect cell phns etc and make sure that there were no communications at all between boats, as well as # rod's etc. I see it as a big disadvantage to someone coming in to an area and fishing against locals that know the water and fish it most every day. They might as well call it the LOC # 2 Derby. With open com. it's not going to be the same. Go out and do what you can do on your own and may the best team win. ** This has no reflection on what this forum or the owners think. Just my own opinion. K I'm done with the venting.

Shark: I've been out of town for the last week, but I'll see what I can get for ya.
