  1. Ray: You might want to hold off for a few day's. 100" in some spot's. The whole county is under a state of emergency. We just missed it here.
  2. Rat : On a side note great music (picts. too) on your site. Thinking I should be 20 years younger.
  3. K I'll bite: Full time charter since 75 both on the coast and L.O. Born and brought up on the lake but got the urge to do salt water for awhile  as well as the marine repair business it keep's me busy.
  4. All depends on who's sunning on it. I've found many of interesting ways to utilize the old doghouse.
  5. Ray There called Gill brackets. They are common on the coast both for performance and the reason you stated. More available room in the boat. Here's a link that pretty much tells it all . http://continuouswave.com/whaler/refere ... ckets.html
  6. There right, with common sense. Great hull & boat. You will be pleased with it. Need to pick or need some thing let me kn not a problem. Sparked a fire when I heard SeaCraft
  7. Easy: I thought it might be an older one. You don't have to say alot about the design or hull they are a top of the line boat. There weren't alot of i/o's made, most were o/b. I ran a 23 scepter for inshore trips off the coast in Delaware (well a lot to the canyon's too back in the early 80's and brought it back home (here) and ran trips for 2 years with it. It was an o/b with twin 90's on it. Sold it and the boat is still in the area. Good choice to go with the 350. As you said it had a ford as were most of the i/o's that were built then. Good luck on the restore. It'll be a great boat. Cant say enough about the hull and design. P.S. Can I get a ride in 4ta 5 ft'er's or so on plane when ya get it done? It will take it like a piece a cake. Seeing those pictures bring's back a lot of memories.
  8. Easy: What year is the sea-craft, i/o or outboard? Great hull and handling boat.
  9. Not a problem. That's what I do. The new owner's are getting a great boat, and it was good to meet them.
  10. blue waters: Not a problem. Was good to meet you both as well. Boat has been well mantained as you can see. I'm sure you will enjoy it.
  11. Tom. Lets not push it. Times going by to fast as it is. 8 more months till I hit the 55 mark.
  12. OK couldn't get Steve ta bite so I'll fess up. 1952 equals 54 for me. Not 38. Just wishfull thinkin.
  13. Steve: Do ya realy want to get it going? I'm not givin my age away. Well actualy I just turned 38. Last year. Who cares if my beard is grey.

    Port Bay

W.W. Way too much. Got dumped on big time. 3ft give or take a few inches. There's plenty of snow over what little ice we had. Gettin real tired of plowin.
  17. From there web site. It'll give you an idea of the unit. http://www.simradusa.net/index.php?opti ... &Itemid=39
  18. Trouble: I've seen this posted by you on some other sites as well. #1 4000 rpm's at WOT would indicate wrong pitch prop of which makes the engine work harder. IE. more fuel consumption. Engine should turn 42 to 44 hundred wide open or up to 45 or so with one person and full fuel. Not sure, but I'll look in to what capacity tank is in that particular boat as well. #2 The replies you got over there are valid for the most part. There are a lot of variables such as choke, carb, state of tune, compression and general cond. the engine is in. Hope that helps. Any questions or help you need let me know. 165, 170's or 470's basically the same motor they are usually pretty good on fuel consumption if all is well. All tho they did have there problem's as any other engine does.
  19. Trying to tap the top of the pistons sounds reasonable, but with the plug angle not feasible. What Ted has set up should work out well. You can apply pressure both ways to see if it comes free. From what he has told me it might have more problems than just stuck rings as he bought the boat as is, with no pryer knowledge of it. Ted. Let me know how you make out.
  20. Clarke: You very well could have a charging system problem. You shouldn't run the battery's down in a day. Your engine doesn't have an alternator that you can just take off and have checked. It works off the stator under the flywheel as a.c. voltage and then thru a combination converter/regulator to d.c. voltage then to the battery. It's a combination unit that also supplies voltage to the ignition. Unless you go hit or miss. Both components should be checked and tested on the boat with the engine running for an accurate test. On another note: Are you running a pair of deep cycle/start battery's either 24 group or 27's depending on how much room you have and a switch .

    Ice

As you said: W.W. Wouldn't be venturing on Port Bay just yet. Snow kinda messed the whole thing up. It had all the right makings till the snow came.
