  1. Good attempt to slip by, but: By the authority vested in me by the State of New York, I dub you ......"King of I-Bay, 2009"
  2. Ditto on the free sliders from me also. They have been my most consistent set up for 2 years. People (Darren lol) are always trying to get me to pin them to the line but I don't want to take my best presentation out of the picture. Chris, love the looks on the faces of your little mermaids/girls. Never met you yet, but I am ready to dub you "King of I Bay" for 2009 so far based upon your consistent reports. Thought real hard about going out last night but was glad I was home when that storm blew through.
  3. Thanks Brian, I have a bad habit of not remembering names. Thanks again for the lure, it helped turn a slow day into and ok one. Just ordered the Warrior catalog off the internet.
  4. Good thing I literally just opened my shipment of Dirty White Boy lures and Flashers.....
  5. Dialed in on a trip to Kenai Peninsula for next June....not sure how I am going to wait that long....
  6. In water at 6:30 AM. Started in 60' right in front of Bay on a N/W troll. Temp was 68 at the top and 57 at the bottom! Trolled NW out to 120. Knew we had a short morning so never went too much further and probably should have to find temp. Boated 3. A skipper king on a clown slider, ball set at 70 over 80. 7lb brown and a 6 lb steelie both on a slider over 110 in front of river. Lure for these has a "W" (Warrior maybe?) on top that was given to me at the Mayers gas dock last week by a guy I met. (Thanks if you are reading this!) Not sure what it is called but it has gold, orange and black on the face and about half the size of a NK 28. Sorry I do not remember the name. Warm water everywhere, just a few bait pods and not many hooks. Very glad to get what I did. No action on wire dipsey or the braided slide diver as these have been dead for me since Spring derby at Wilson. NW wind, light, flat building to 1 footers as a real good storm rolled through west of us. No action til the salmon chop and rain picked up at around 7:45. Off water at 9:45. Could be a tough weekend unless someone figures out where they are or things set up a little better. Hope to be out tomorrow and Sunday.
  7. Hey Tom, it is in front of 283 Pattonwood. Haven't had a chance to stop, so no details. Looks like it might fit a 19 footer, but I have only seen it at about 30 mph.
  8. What is this "crazy b****" I keep reading about? (insert joke about wife/girlfriend/boss) Any photo's?
  9. Was on the south side, I think about midway between O'Rourke bridge and St. Paul. In a front yard.
  10. Don't know details, but saw a trailer for sale on Pattonwood Drive in Irondequoit. I will try to get more info for you.
  11. Still good results for you on a very difficult day for me. 1-3. 1 steelhead in the boat, 1 lost during fight and a decent release, that was it. Marked 1 fish and 2 bait pods all morning so I am quite jealous. Emerald shiner was our lure when we boated the fish on a slider over 90 feet of water, probably down 30. Lots of junk in the water and crapped up lures with green seaweed. Ran next to you in about 100 ft. of water and tried to catch you on 68....figured I would try to steal some info from you realtime instead of waiting til I got to the board.
  12. Of course there is Hans who is just getting started......He will fish again in 2022 or so! (hope you are reading this buddy!)
  13. Chris, you continue to boat fish every trip. Good for you and thanks for the info. Guys like you make figuring out where to start when I only get out once a week a whole lot easier. Killing me sitting at these soccer fields at night when the weather is great and fish are biting! Made a decision a long time ago that I will not miss my kids sports for fishing. Reaching the end of the run for my 2nd kid and with just one left I hope to be able to get out more in the evenings. I enjoy the sports, but love the fishing.
  14. I always ran 2 riggers with free sliders on each. 1 dipsey on either side (either 2 wires or 1 wire and 1 braided with a slide diver) and either a leadcore down the chute or a mono rod with a lead shot and steelehead lure if I am seeing fish around the surface. Just get the chute rod in if you hook into a nice fish. Added a 3rd gimbal mounted rigger this year and run a tight and shallow flasher fly set-up in the middle to draw them into the spread.
  15. Holy crap....I can't even figure out the template and you have pictures for everything! I am impressed. Great morning to be fishing, although catching was only ok.
  16. Lures in at 6:40 a.m. off I Bay. Started in 75' and worked out to 120. Best picture was in 75-80' all morning. Lots of bait pods and some decent marks. Pods were anywhere from 30' down to the bottom. Boated 3 out of 4 hits. Stinger Emerald Shiner was the lure that took all 3 from free sliders on riggers down 60. No hits on slide diver, bottom riggers or wire dipseys today. More consistent picture was when we got west by the river. Pulled them up at 10:10 am. Shoulda just stayed in at 75-80' and worked it hard because screen went blank at 100'. 1 king (9lbs) and 2 steelehead. Not a great day, but a beautiful, flat, still and slightly foggy morning. 53 degrees on the surface with ripple from NW.
  17. I love your sense of adventure and willingness to try something new! Thanks for the post.
  18. Did you do it yourself? I have heard some horror stories but I think I may tackle it myself.
  19. Sounds like a lot of fun. Any time you are catching fish around here in June before the water sets up you are doing well. Chris, do you have an auto pilot? I have been toying with the idea for a few years. Sure would make solo fishing a ton easier. The bungee cord I use looks so bush!
  20. I am jealous of you both for getting out there! I brought in a 14 lb king in Wilson during LOC and I thought I had a monster. Best fighting salmon I ever caught. I took a picture and keep it on my phone because the thing was gorgeous silver and built like a small tuna. A real healthy 2 year old can be a lot of fun.
  21. Thanks for the video. Nice fish for 2nd time out! Looks like you had a lot of fun.
