length from rigger weight to paddle
Tim Bromund replied to bandrus1's topic in Questions About Trout & Salmon Trolling?
I think that formula works ok for spoons, (though it's not really necessary with those most of the time either), but I can't remember the last time I had to put a flasher longer than 15 feet from the ball, regardless of depth. Most of the time my flasher/flys are 8-10 from the ball. Tim -
Congrats Jeff

On Sunday February 26, 2012 from 08:30am-3:00pm the Lake Ontario Trout and Salmon Association will be hosting our 6th annual Fishing Expo and Flea Market. The Expo will be at the Cornell Cooperative Extension, 4H Building in Lockport, NY. 4485 Lake Ave (Rte 78), Lockport, NY 14094, approx 2 miles north of Lockport. In addition to the great deals going on in the main hall, over in the seminar room, we will be conducting a Lake Ontario Basics Clinic in the Morning, which will be tailored to for those beginners looking to start out fishing LO. In the afternoon, we will be sponsoring a kids fishing clinic for getting kids and their parents started fishing. Both classes are free of charge as part of your Expo Admission, however for the Kid's class, Pre-Registration is required. Admission will be a $5.00 donation at the door. As in years past, all admission money collected will be donated to help fund Pen Rearing. Please visit the LOTSA Website http://www.lotsa.org for more information.

The Lake Ontario Trout & Salmon Association is pleased to announce that we are bringing back Captain Vince Pierleoni and Captain Bob Cinelli for the 2012 LOTSA Salmon School on Saturday Feb, 25, 2012. This year’s Full Day School will be Part Two of last year’s Presentation and will be an advanced class, building on the foundation laid in last year’s School. In this year's presentation, Bob and Vince will go into much greater detail, pulling together the basic boat and equipment rigging techniques covered in last years School into a cohesive plan for being a successful Lake Ontario fisherman. In addition, as part of this year’s presentation, Bob and Vince will be bringing in well known East End Captains, Tom Burke and Andy Bliss from Cold Steel to do a segment on fishing for deep kings. As mentioned above, this year’s School will cover more advanced topics, so if you are a beginning troller looking for basic, beginner type information, this class will likely not be for you. The 2012 LOTSA Salmon School is limited to the first 100 Registrants and Pre-Registration is required. All registrations will be handled online at the LOTSA website http://www.lotsa.org. Cost for this year’s class will be $70.00 and will include lunch and goodie bag of tackle. The Salmon School will be at the Cornell Cooperative Extension, 4H Building in Lockport, NY. 4485 Lake Ave (Rte 78), Lockport, NY 14094, approx 2 miles north of Lockport. Please see the LOTSA Website for more information and class registration

John, I had a droid for 2 years and really liked it, I now have an iphone4 and really like it as well. Both have their plusses and minuses so I wouldn't consider one superior over the other, but I really don't think you can go wrong with any of the new smartphones out there. Tim

91 Sea Ray Sundancer 22' or 93 Bayliner 2452 Hardtop
Tim Bromund replied to King Slammin's topic in This Old Boat
I would agree with you if it were an Amberjack, but between a Sundancer and the Bayliner Hardtop for a trolling rig, Personally I'd take the Bayliner any day of the week. Tim -

Cannon Magnum 10A questions.
Tim Bromund replied to Wrestling Coach's topic in Tackle and Techniques
I was going to say that if they are in fact Mag 10A's those would have been pre shortstop and PIC. I had a pair of the old mag 10A's. They work fine and quite honestly, are so slow that you don't really need the shortstop feature. The one's I had were 80's vintage and they pulled 12 lb cannonballs up just fine. Tim -

Gill-T on here does that quite a bit. Perhaps he will chime in. I know Becholds makes them commercially. http://www.fishcatcher.com/ Tim -
