  1. Great Job on the smallie, Paul If I get one large enough to mount......you get the job.... See you in a couple of months.........
  2. Well said, Ray and I must agree to operate a boat it should be licensed as there are far too many out there that do not have a clue.....
  3. Yvan, Damm.......we were hoping to save a buck and keep "The Candy" on a trailer this year
  4. The wallys when caught are usually off the points.....your right there is not a lot of structure, but some I think they just hve full belly's. Roy and I had a slow day with a little late start There are some people in Ontario that shouldn't be left out at night......without their mother to watch 'em
  5. Tim, I know of a few nice size pike taken out of Sodus... Walleyes...haven't heard of any but if you have fished Sodus, there is just a ton of small perch all over no matter what depth your in, which means the perch fishing should be in good shape for the next few years anyway. This a good thing.....but it also means the pike and walleye have plenty of natural feed..... makes fishing for these a little tough
  6. Must have been easy to chase down with those stubby legs Nice kill Bob.....
  7. I vote for the volvo also, if you have to go mercruiser, stay away from alpha one although they were popular it was because they were cheaply made they break easily.
  8. Well, put up the 2009 stuff we can read......................when you can.... thanks
  9. I think you can get 50-60' to the side: http://www.slidediver.com/depth_chart.htm

  11. Stein, since you're only looking to fish 20ft down, you might want to look at SlideDivers. They allow you to fish further behind the diver and still get out to the side they are especially great for spooky fish... http://www.slidediver.com/ Good luck.......
  12. I agree with Hank. and I think that Furuno CRT is better than any LCD out there. Have you tried sending it back to Furuno...to have it checked.....might be worth the time and money over getting a new unit. I have the Lowrance LCX-25 and actually like the picture better than the Furuno LCD's......but that's me. Is it better????????????
  13. Thanks, have you or anyone else on this site given thought to including Lake Erie (Great Lakes as Michigan has).. Times Two, others,????????
  14. For the record I would love to see the state go to 3 rods per person. Most of my trips are myself and my wife or a buddy so that only puts two in my boat most of the time ... I would love to be able to run a 6 rod spread. But it will change part of the math of managing the amount of fish being taken ... one more rod per peson per boat will increase the probability of more people (boats) taking their limit on more trips. I'm note sure if the models would show or predict enough additional fish being taken to have them consider changing the limit as a balnce to the extra rods in the water but it will enter their thought process. I don't believe that more fish would be taken. If you've been on this board for sometime, I believe you would see that a high percentage of the anglers practice catch and release voluntarily. Yes the possibility for more limit catches is there but the reality is it won't happen. Show a picture of a legal limit catch and you'll get a couple dozen post from some of the members of this forum "slapping your hand" for keeping fish. Let's increase the enjoyment(odds) of being out there in the first place.....Catching Fish
  15. I agree with Fishgill, and now that I have had sometime to think about it I think you should include the Great Lakes in your proposal. Why not include the walleye/ trout of Lake Erie.....New York waters As long as the creel limits remain what difference should it make how many rods I run. I voted NO in your poll as I believe you shouldn't limit the proposal with just 3 rods I understand the musky fisherman and agree they should not be included, so you would need boundries established
  16. WTG....guys Brian, thats a fantastic day on the ice at Honeoye.....WTG
  17. Actually, on a 31-33 ft boat with 12-13 ft beam it's fairly easy for 2 to run more than 6 rods. A couple of downriggers, 2-4 divers, a couple of lead core, or flat lines on the boards, and maybe a copper and with autopilot it's not that hard to keep things from getting tangled-up. NOT that I would ever do such a thing because that would be illegal........ I say try to do Michigan 1 better, aim higher, give them something to shoot for.... Keeping the creel limits the same, this should not have an adverse effect on the population
  18. Like was mentioned above...why stop at 3.... If you have the boat and the crew that can handle more rods and you abide by creel limits why not 4-5 rods. If you only ask for 3 that's all you'll get.... ask for more..... It would make tournaments interesting to say the least It would take care of some of issues brought up my many of the AM teams
  19. More info for 2009 tournaments and photos: http://www.scottytournamentseries.com/series.html
  20. You guys gotta be kidding me ..... They still can't beat a team with a winning record.. Their 6 wins are against teams with the combined record of 15wins 48 losses let's see..... that averages out to 2.5-8 they'll be LUCKY to break 500 even with the easiest schedule in the league They Might beat the 49ers next week they're 3-8 Then it's 4 straight losses to finish the season....7-9 SORRY
  21. Hey a decent downrigger rods are the 8'6" Ugly Stick...... they can handle the bigger fish yet have good action for the browns and smaller trout
