  1. Har har. Yea it was fleas Im positive. They are right on schedule and should be in full bloom by the 4th of July. RR Sent from my DROID X2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  2. Got in the boat and both batteries were dead! Evidently I hit the wash down pump switch last Sunday and didn't realize it. Ok 1 hour later we finally get out. Set down in front of the plant and doubled up on the dipsys. 2 nice lakers hit the deck. 60 fow on bottom. Did some 17 in salmon 40 to 55 down. Ran north to long point and did the same but over 100 to 120 right on the bottom with the wires. Riggers took some more 17 inch salmon. At the same depth. I had some fleas on the wires. Temp break is starting to set up good. Sent from my DROID X2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  3. Mike there is room for 2 boats at the transiant dock. That's it! Most guys launch there for the tournament and jut them back on the trailer before weigh in. I used to put my boat back in the lift and drive over. Unfortunately I'm out again this year. RR Sent from my DROID X2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  4. Nope u won't fit for sure. Either treman or deans cove are your choices on the west side. Sent from my DROID X2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  5. Thermocline? I had 58 on top and 55 down 30! Not much of a thermocline. Down 45 it was 49 to 50. Considering that trout and salmon prefer 50 to 60 degrees, the fish are all over the place. I'm catching lakers in 42 degree water. This is not.the time of year to be looking for.the break. Fish your marks! We need another week or 2 of good sun before it sets up. Fish the marks! 6. Kevin at the Wilson boat yard does all my installs and my friends too. Worth it! RR Sent from my DROID X2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  7. Fished sat and sun. Sat fished below t falls up to scout camp. Short city. Motored over to Lansing station, headed north and began a slow pick of quality salmon, lakers and 1 decent bow. 50 to 70 right down on the bottom. Pinks and orange finger lakes spoon. Sunday decided to fish long point and north. 100 to 120 ran from 30 ft down to the bottom and had a nice day of quality fish. Lakers, salmon and bows. Same finger lakes spoons. Had various cores and coppers out off boards and all they did was collect weeds and cotton wood. RR Sent from my DROID X2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  8. I used those on my old boat off the rail and they worked just fine for dipsys.Sent from my DROID X2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  9. Cisco rod holders is what I use and I've had them for 6 years no issues. Sent from my DROID X2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  10. Yup. They're really scattered. Sent from my DROID X2 using Lake Ontario United mobile app
  11. Surfs UP at my house big time! RR
  12. Happens every year on the finger lakes. Post spawn die off. Normal. Or influx of cold water. RR
  13. My raymarine unit was doing the same thing this weekend. Locking on to a rigger ball or temp. I solved the problem by turning the power and the gain way down and then adjusting both back up a bit. Still marked bait and fish excellent even with the power and gain set to 10 on a scale of 100. Might help if you play with those settings. Its frustrating, I know. RR
  14. Very difficult conditions and slow fishing. Friday we searched and searched. Never got any program going. We did manage to get lucky though. Sat for the WHI, we were greeted with a choppy lake. We ran west about 4 miles and turned around and fished with the wind in 100 fow. I only ran 4 rods. 2 wires and 2 riggers all with spin drs and big Weenies in green and also ron's morning wood The screen looked great right on the bottom, so that's where all the gear was. Got set up and took a shot off the dipsy and dropped it. Got down another half mile and the same rod took a shot and we landed that one. 18 lbs. Ran out of marks right in front of Wilson so we pulled and ran back up to our starting spot. Got the gear set and it.wasn't long and.we doubled up on the wires. Landed both 19 and 20.5 lbs. Now its about 9:00 and we were back in front of port so we pulled and did it again. Got set up and bam but lost it. Got down another mile and the.other dipsy fires and dropped it. The fish that were lost were gone before the rod was out of the holder so nobody's fault. It happens especially when its rough. Never had another hit the rest of the day. Feeling a little down, we went to the weigh in. Lots of zeros on the board. We were in 4th but still many boxes to be weighed. So I sat there on pins and needles as every 6th box or so would knock us down a notch. Finally there were 3 boxes left to weigh and we were sitting in 9th. What a relief that none of those boxes could knock us out! So we finished 9th and very very happy. Kevin and the crew did a great job yet again. Back to Cayuga for.the rest of.the summer as the charter schedule is filling up nicely. Everyone have a great.season! RR
  15. 5/9. Fished from Wilson to the red can. 60 to 250. Skunk! No bait very few marks. First time in 15 years I've never moved a rod at the bar. That is all. Carry on. RR
  16. If the weather stations are coming in clear, the connection is not the problem. Believe me your.radio is only as good as the antenna. I had a 3 footer when I first started. It didn't last long before I upgraded for the same issues you have. RR
  17. Your antenna is too small. That's it. You can buy a cheap radio but you need a good antenna. 8 footer. RR
  18. Bills temp is correct. We have several feeders coming in down there and the creeks have been warming the south end as well as the sun. As soon as you get off the shelf, it's 40 to 43 degrees lake wide. RR
  19. My boat is going to be just fine. Huge thumbs up for charter lakes insurance. Huge thumbs up for Capt Bill. We had a great time! RR
