Worked the inside waters and had one upper teens king, one GIANT lamprey on cutbait (yes the lamprey took the cutbait!) and a TON of skippers to show for it. Worked our way out to the 330 - 375 are and started to get into some nice kings and steelhead. Put together a nice box consisting of a 19,20,23 and a 23lb king. 90% of our hits today came on flashers and flies on the wires, copper and riggers. I was running 6 flashers and flies on 4 wires, 1 copper and 1 rigger with 2 riggers cheated with spoons. The only fish we took on spoons were skippers, small bows and smaller kings. At the weigh in, our box was good enough for 4th place. Congrats to all the winners and I tip my hat to the guys that worked HARD to make this event another success.

Who knows if we will even get those East winds. Noaa says East, every other weather website shows SW, SE, SSW, NW and West. Only time will tell.

I have run the 30lb for a couple season now and have the line twist figured out. My spoon rods, I run a spro swivel (same ones guys are using for coppers) in between the FF and the Floro leader and a Spro swivel between the Floro and the lure. My flasher rods, I run a bigger Spro swivel and make sure the swivel on the Spin Doctor or other brand of flasher is in good working order. Very little twisting if any.

Slow down and fish deeper. Kings will drop down in ice water to get out of the high sun. Full moon periods, 11 - 2pm is the hot bite most days.

These spoons are awesome. I purchased some and ran them over the weekend. Nice action in the water and super tough paint jobs!

Total Boated: Species Breakdown:Kings, steelhead, a brown and some lakers Hot Lure: King of Sting Trolling Speed: Down Speed: Boat Depth: 30 - 430 fow Lure Depth: 35 - 95 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Fished with Gator and 33Canuck yesterday. Started the morning in 30 fow looking for browns. After a short troll, we decided to pick up and run to 230 fow. Trolled North to 430 and pick a bunch a steelhead, 2 mid teen kings and a small brown along the way. Once we got past 400 fow, there was bait all over but no hooks on it. Trolled back in and in 280, the 95 rigger fire with a big fish that ended up coming un-buttoned. Made our way in to fish lakers and ended up catch some but not the action we had before the upwelling. Things are very scattered right now. Hopefully things get better for the shootout.

I have seen a lot of flies that have frays from a bad unhooking job on the previous fish. Always check the leaders near the hooks after pliers were used.

The weigh in is at a rod and gun club around the corner. The dead line for the sign up is the 26th I believe.
