  1. I'm on to him Ray. I watched him feeding those big fish from his back patio!
  2. Saltist reels are the best option for wires. Tekotas are nice but who wants a reel you pay $200 for and have to upgrade the drag.
  3. You can have him back after September 5th
  4. You can thank good old Monroe County for that one Bruce. It is the only County along the lakeshore that does not promote the fishery or the water front!
  5. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s):8/11/ Time on Water:530 am Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: Waves: 1' Surface Temp: Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits:29 Total Boated:26 Species Breakdown:Steelhead and lakers Hot Lure: NBK MAg Trolling Speed: Down Speed: Boat Depth: 50 - 120 Lure Depth: ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Started the morning in tight looking for browns. Nice picture but it was a slow start. Got down East past the Felluca residence and the 95 wire starts screaming with a nice steelhead. After many many jumps, we netted a 12lb 13oz steelhead. Continued East and did another steelhead. Slid out deeper and tried to get a laker for the Orleans Derby. We did 24 lakers but 23 were under 10lbs and one was 12. The 12 was shorter than the 30" minimum. The steelhead lands us in 2nd place in the steelhead division. Temps were really high but getting better as the day progressed. Good luck out there guys!
  6. Coppers, leadcore, wire divers, and thumper rods.
  7. +1. I have a bunch of Heartlands and 4 Okuma Roller rods. I have been running the Heartlands for 8 years with no issues. So far no issues with the reel seats on the Okuma roller rods but I have heard of people having issues.
  8. I run my probe on my high rigger. The middle rigger is always my deepest rigger in ice cold water.
  9. I too went to 3 riggers this season. My 4th rigger always sat and did not get used. My boat does not have a large beam and 4 riggers was ok but with slip in the wind and rough seas, it was more of a hassle. I run a 3 rigger rod, 4 wire diver and 2 copper set with 3 or 4 guys. If it is 2, I run 3 riggers, 2 wires and 1 copper to start and let the fish tell me what rods are the active ones for the day.
  10. On Wednesday, my X4 probe stopped working. I took the probe apart and found I had broke the solder joint that connect the battery pack to the connector before the epoxy. I fixed it so I can have it this weekend. I called Fish Hawks customer service and was very pleased with their customer service. The guy I spoke with is dropping one in the mail no charge so I have it by Monday!
  11. You are not alone. It adds up every year. This sport is not cheap!
  12. I run mine a little longer than most. I run mine from 24 to 30". I always run mine on the more action side of Spin Doctors.
  13. Thanks Dave. I doubt that fish will hold. There are a ton of big ones out there. I will be out Sunday. Hopefully this NE wind that is blowing right now will not screw things up too bad for us.
  14. I think that pod of big kings that was out front has decided to move on East. The river guys are now having their way with them. This NE wind will move things around again.
  15. Dave, They had my name butchered for a couple days too.
  16. You got it all wrong.......It goes more like this: Wife- Did you buy more fishing stuff? Husband- yup. Nice new shoes. End of story.
  17. Fishing Report Your Name / Boat Name: ============== TRIP OVERVIEW ============== Date(s): Time on Water:515 Weather/Temp: Wind Speed/Direction: west around 10 Waves: 1-3 Surface Temp:76 Location: LAT/LONG (GPS Cords): =============== FISHING RESULTS =============== Total Hits: ? Total Boated:a bunch Species Breakdown:Kings, coho and steelhead Hot Lure: Hammer time Spin Doctor and the green hammer fly Trolling Speed: Down Speed: Boat Depth: 100 - 500 Lure Depth: 80-120 ==================== SUMMARY & FURTHER DETAILS ==================== Statrted the morning in 230 and trolled out almost to 500. The fish are very scattered and the majors were hiding from us today (first time that has happened in weeks). We did a mess of small kings, steelhead and 2 tiny coho. We worked our way all the back into 100 and things were no diiferent temp and fishing wise in 100 than they were all the way out and in.
  18. You can knock gobies and zebras off that list Ray. I have caught tons of those over the years. Those gobies make for a fun day of fishing when the perch bite is slow in the fall.
  19. Congrats on the mature. If you get one to mount, you have plenty of time to save. It usually takes months to get one back.
  20. We have a a lot more than the past couple years. We even had one take the meat on a meat rig and it got caught on the treble.
  21. Jerry, Thanks. He has become a Sandy regular. One hell of a crew member.
  22. Use 30lb floro for spoons and 50lb floro for flashers and flies and you will not need snubbers.
  23. PM sent
  24. SWR = Secret weapon rig. 2 colors leadcore off the rigger. The lure runs approx 10' below the ball. It is used in a stealth approach when the fish are rigger shy.
  25. Happy Birthday Ray. I hope it is a good one for you!
