  1. I have been running the same backing and mine is 5 season old with no issues. I would ditch the rubberbands and go with Scotty Power Grip plainer releases.
  2. Looks like they took another "week off"! Better get some new hands for some of their recievers!
  3. 65 degrees with an upwelling in the lake will bring in the first big push.
  4. 7 sets of cowbells for sale. 5 Hammerheads and 1 Luhr Jenson. One of the Hammerhead sets is the vertical blades that go on the rigger cable. $30.00 for the lot. You pay shipping or local pick up.
  5. Wow. I would think the more eyes the better. I guess you must learn what a water spout looks like in captains school.
  6. The bay and lake have to cool down some before they come in. Most years it is mid september. This year I would bet it is going to be a couple weeks late.
  7. Nice shooting Shawn. That is one nice looking coho.
  8. It is the 2nd biggest Laker weighed in to the LOC, biggest laker ever weighed in the Orleans County Rotary Derby and the only trout to ever win the Orleans County Rotary Derby. If you guys think lake trout smell bad after sitting in the cooler for a day, you should smell one that has sat in a cooler for a day, then frozen, then thawed for another day. I do not think the smell will ever come out of my cooler!
  9. Thanks Carl. We normally target Lakers mid day after the king bite during the LOC and Orleans but we never thought in a million years we would boat a laker over 30lbs.
  10. I agree with Carl. Lots of water was left alone for 2 reasons 1) the gas prices and 2) the inside bite was more consistant this year than most.
  11. I recall some senseless chatter from him in the past.... : . We will see if the Giants can beat the Redskins this season. Last year they had a little trouble!
  12. Way to drop that local goose population Matt! It needs to be done way more times than that to put a dent in the population.

  14. Guys, Politics Really? I feel like my grand father has invaded this site!
  15. Too bad your Giants girl has an Adams Apple lol.
  16. It is amazing how people only care about themselves and put themselves in unnecessary danger. The people that have to come out and rescue someone in bad conditions are at a huge risk because of someone elses BAD JUDGEMENT. No fish is worth risking your life and someone elses in bad weather!
  17. This season was the best season I have seen on Lake Ontario in the 28 years I have been fishing it. The boat will be pulled Tuesday and prepared for an engine rebuild. I can't believe the season is already over! Here are the highlights from the season: Spring loc Derby Laker - 19lbs 6oz - 17TH PLACE Summer Derby lakers - 19lbs 5oz and 17lbs 7oz. We put another 18lb 6oz laker on the board but I do not have a pic. Sandy Creek Shootout 4th place box - 84.99lbs of kings Orleans County derby fish -Grand Prize Laker 34lbs 6oz, 1st place laker 23lbs 8 oz, 2nd place laker 19lbs 3 oz and the 4th place king 30lbs 13oz. 34lb 6oz laker photos 23lb 8oz laker - !st place Orleans Derby Laker 30lb 13oz King - 4th place Orleans Derby King 12lb Atlantic 14lb 14 oz brown and a 11lb 6oz brown 12lb 13oz steelhead
  18. Put some lock washers under the thumb screws and that should take care of the issue.
  19. Read the article on Great Lakes Angler about editor Dave Mull's incident and you will think twice about fishing in rough stuff with a small boat. There engine died and the boat was swamped. No one died but they bobbed around like a cork for hours before someone found them.
  20. Call Big Jon Keith. Their customer service is great and they ship fast.
