  1. I need 2. I would not want to go bigger than 28' I like the 28' Penn Yans. They are awesome fishing platforms. I would also need a 18' lund for spring browns, fall perch and pike.
  2. Down grade to riggers with no options?
  3. Cannon Riggers! No plastic beeds to worry about.
  4. There was an article about a disease the was killing off carp and carp only a couple years ago. I will try to find it. Why not introduce the disease in the Mississippi and tribs to try to kill some off?
  5. Any of you guys getting female perch? The 20 I cleaned yesterday were 99% males. I cleaned 18 the other day that were 99% males also. I notcied this pattern last year at the beginning of the run that it was mostly males.
  6. If you release them at the back of the boat and do not handle them, more will survive. Less time out of the water = less stress.
  7. If you guyfishing the lake are trying deep (40+) I think you are too deep. I have not seen a perch in the intake screens in weeks at work.
  8. I see they are made with love Steve!
  9. I believe it was Mike Waterhouse that mentioned this at the state of the lake meetings a couple years ago and the DEC ignored him. Matt is right on this one. It is all about the $. Complete BS. They should have taken the money they used to by the fin clipping/marking trailer and put some of it into the budget for raising kings at Caledonia.
  10. They can treat eggs to get rid of VHS i believe.
  11. VHS disease. It would already be there anyways. Just a stupid excuse if you ask me.
  12. One thing I forgot was teeth. You need to lose all but one of your teeth so you look the part. Dentists are a thing of the past!
  13. Pete, Is your new house on wheels? Is it in a park? Just curious. If not, you would make a better redneck if your home had these features.
  14. Come on.....You believe that? We had no snow pack to melt into the lake last winter (it rained all winter and no water was held back because of the fear of too much water in the spring like a couple springs ago), no rain this spring and summer. The lake never got up to the high for the season like normal. We started off 6" below the normal when the lake is the highest. Add that up with a bad drought and you get crappy water levels. My fathers 28 acre pond and well in Ontario County went dry. It has nothing to do with people taking water from the lake.
  15. Hide trail cameras and catch this prick. People suck!
  16. I have been a Clam owner since the original Clam Cabin tents. They are very well built and higher quality than Frabill IMO. The tent material on the Clam tents is twice as thick as the Frabill and other brands. I now own 2 clam tents (Yukon and Kodiak). My Yukon is 8 years old now and my Kodiak is 3 years old and they are in great shape. I put a ton of time on the ice and they hold up to the abuse I put them through.
  17. There is a lack of good LOCAL tackle shops.
  18. It is not VHS. I was talking with the guys doing the study and at the time they had ruled out VHS. They did say they are only seeing these tumors and black spots on fish within so many miles of the Genesse River!
  19. Hammertime Spin Doctor and the Live wire Spin Doctor were my 2 go to flashers.
  20. There are some guys that come to my work for water samples from the lake and they are doing a study on the bullhead tumors and black spots. Next time I see them I will try to get more info on the causes.
  21. We took a smallmouth off of Webster Park years ago in 80 fow down 75 on a White Spin Doctor with a mirage fly. First time I have heard of a largemouth caught on one. Who knows it might end up being the next big bass craze.
  22. I work at a water treatment plant that draws water from the bottom of the lake in 50 fow.
