  1. Spoon - Stinger NBK Stingray size Fly - Mirage Attomik Flasher - White crush Spin Doctor
  2. Someone will post them later today. It is not over until this afternoon.
  3. I have 8 of the same rods that Yankee Troller has. Mine are rigged with Diawa SG27lcs. They are super rods for browns and steelies. They were $29.99 last time I checked.
  4. bretter, I would recommend Diawa 47 sglca reels with 1000' of malin 7 strand 30 lb. stainless steel wire. For rods, There are many good brands of wire rods out there. If you do not go with a roller rod, you will need to add a twilly tip to the end of the rod.
  5. bretter, Both have there days. Wire is a lot easier to work with. The later it gets into the season, the hotter the wires get. There are days in August that wires take 75% of your hits. You can fish wires divers at any depths with one rig. If you are just getting started with wire, I would suggest getting the Precision Trollers Big Water edition. This book has charts that show how deep your divers will go down with a certain amount of wire out. Coppers are depth specific ie. 300' copper is good for fishing 60 -65' down 400' copper is good for 80 -90' down. You need multiple copper rigs to fish different depths. I would suggest getting 2 wire diver setups and then add a copper rig when you can afford it.
  6. Times Two, What lodge did you stay at? We used to stay at the French River Lodge. The fishing is great up there.
  7. What a way to kick off the 2008 season. Got to the boat at 5 am to find out 2 of my crew will be late. Left the dock at 615 and Headed to 80 FOW. Got a full 8 rod spread out and nailed a decent king right off the bat. 20 minutes later, we had 4 fish on at once. By 12:30, we were ending our day 19 for 25. We boated 1 steelhead (10 lbs), 1 laker (10 lbs), 2 coho, and 15 kings. The kings ranged from 3 lbs. - 18 lbs. The majority were around 6 - 12 lbs. 130 FOW seemed most productive West and East of the creek. Watoma Shoals produced the bigger fish of the day. Stinger NBK Stingray was the top producer off the riggers 40 - 60 down. Took 3 fish on flasher/fly combos (spin doctors in three different colors with three different colored flies - Live wire w/homemade fly, white w/ mirage, green w/ green hammer.). 300' copper took 5 fish w/ a Stinger NKB. Boards with 1 oz. of weight (50/50) and my favorite NK 28 (don't know the name it came from the spring sale out of the reject bin) took the steelie, a coho, and a king off the board. Wires were quiet producing one king on a flasher/fly combo.
  8. Skipper, You can get 60 - 65' down with 300' of copper with out a diver. Why would you put a diver on it? Get a 400' copper and you will be in that same range without the drag of the dipsy.
  9. I'm selling a Diawa Fire Wolf 57 with 300 yds. of 30 lb. Power pro on it. It was use for a 10 color leadcore. The lead core is NO longer on the reel. $30.00 takes it.
  10. I'm selling 2 slide diver set ups. The reels are Diawa Accudepths 47lc's (older model) on 9'6" Quantum MH diver rods. The rods are older but in great shape. They come complete with 1000' of 30 lb. Ande pink and kelly green slide divers with rings. The combo's are $40.00 each or $75.00 for both. Will separate. Local pick up or will meet somewhere in Rochester.
  11. There are some trout still left in I-bay at this time of the year. I used to find them on the West side in the North end along German Village. I ran spoons off the riggers at the depth I was marking fish at on the fish finder. The fishing was not great but it still beat sitting on the dock.
  12. I have been busy with work and getting the boat ready. I'm back on shift work instead of Monday - Friday. I now have my fishing time back. The boat went in on Wednesday so I'm ready.
  13. They had them at Captains Cove last week when I was out there.
  14. Lefty, They have way too much drag. I have tried them for lakers and they are horrible at 1.3 mph. I couldn't imagine trolling them at 2.5.
  15. Fosterm22, Of course I will be back. I don't know what dock I will be on but I will there. I'm not starting the work on the boat until I get back from Florida.
  16. Nice job guys. It's about time that boat had some real fish on the deck.
  17. What fun would boating be if everyone knew the rules of the road?
  18. The only thing I do not like about single hooks is the damage it does to small kings and steelies. The single hooks always seem to come out through their eye.
  19. Let me guess, a sail boat
  20. Contact Mayers marina on Irondequoit bay. He has a graveyard in his shop of old motors.
