  1. Mark your calendars! The State of the Lake Meeting will be held on March 10, 2010 at RIT from 7pm to 10pm.
  2. Had a solid pick going this AM at Braddocks. Ended up with about 50 fish with 29 keepers. Fatheads on the tip downs produced half the fish, and the other half came "hole hopping" and jigging mousies. Probably the best outing on Bradddocks this year for me so hopefully its a sign that the bite is improving.

Dynamic, Mitchels baitshop on Lake ave has tip downs for sale and i believe they are $10 a piece. I prefer niagaras but thay are alot harder to keep alive. fatheads take a beating better and you simply cant kill them. My tip down setup is a 1/8-1/4 oz bell sinker on bottom and a perch jig (or small hook) within 3-12" of the bottom.
  7. The pike fishing out there has been good to very good this year. The perch fishing however has been very inconsistent. Plenty of good ice though. Good luck!
  8. sorry to hear Ray, your family is in our thoughts.
  9. As a Dolphins fan (yes i said Dolphins), I dont care either way but for the Saints first superbowl I might be pulling for them. Should be a very offensive game, plenty of points , and plenty of yards.
  10. Theres not much more advice these guys can give you and Ive heard a bunch of good ideas here. 1. become an observer for the proams. 4 events all along the lake, you will get paid, and gain some experience. As a bonus most boats that you observe for will let you "prefish" friday (which always hosts a tourny). 2. place apost under trade-a-trip/ open seat and see what happens. Besides the guys already fishing out there looking for a change in scenery or looking just to split some costs or to fish tournys. You might also get people that are less fortunate than you and dont have the means to fish the big O but are looking to donate some time and money to get out there. Or maybe jump on board with someone else. There is no lack of tourneys out there but you may have to travel also. -Oak orchard hosted 4- 1 day events last year - LOC derby spring summer fall $30 per -scotty tournys -proams- open division = $105.00 - new $1000 a day derby -ATOMMIK challenge in oswego -LIL SALMON RIVER challenge in mexico bay -FAIR HAVEN CHALLENGE in fair haven -orleans county derby- $25
  11. check out the proam open division. it might be what your searching for. http://www.lakeontarioproam.net/
