Oak Orchard has great pier fishing in the spring also. -

Another suggestion too is not to mix trout and salmon fillets. Both have very distinct taste and mixing the fillets seems to make them all taste the same.

If you are looking to upgrade to wire for your diver setups then 1000' of wire will do. No need for backing at all and the 30s are big enough. Magdas are not my first pick for diver setups and the drags wont hold up well. -

6-8' of 15, 20,or 30# test mono with good quality swivel on both ends. Use something different then your mainline will help with tangles and get you fishing faster.
