raider44, I run alot of cheaters and ive always been a big fan of running the liberators. Unlike the rubberband method, Liberators are fully adjustable. I have found that you can adjust whether or not you want the roemer to slide down the line by simply reversing the way you attach it to the line. Some days when i notice hook ups arent that great on my cheaters i turn the liberators upside down and lock them in tighter and they seem to stay pinned while i fight the fish. Most of the time the rod tip hitting the liberator will make it break free, allowing you to fight and reel in the fish on the lower spoon.

wondering how many of you guys are replacing your dull hooks or stock hooks with something alittle more to your liking. Im just looking for a couple of places online to buy bulk quanities (50+) of replacement treble and octopus hooks.

When i had my bass boat "we" (me and some other crazy person) spent alot of time trolling the mouth of sandy creek and the oak orchard break wall early in the year (march-april) before the docks were in. we mostly ran 3 rods and used the church "walleye boards" to help with separation . Chinook gave you some good ideas on baits, the only thing id would add is we sometimes added splitshot to get our lines deeper, especially with spoons.

tangledline, thanks for finding that. Floater, check out that post. It gives a pic of a way to rig the subtroll without using crimps and makes the subtroll removeable.

mdryer, On all of my flies i tie an overhand knot and attach them to the flasher swivel.

SUBTROLL! sorry guys had to break the chain. personally i wouldnt mess with the fish hawk. i think your money could be better spent on a subtroll or depth raider. They are similar units and youll hear good reviews on both too. Try searching through some old posts because theres alot of topics on this subject.
