    I use 25# blue label fluorocarbon for my slide divers. It’s great for spoons and flashers.

    We did not have the size as Gator, but also pretty darn good numbers in 170-200’. 20-40’ down area. Route 18 mag hot lips and electric funeral were good.

    My wire slide divers were insane when fishing inside skinny water this year also.

    Also, when it gets tough later in the morning especially when Brownie fishing, I’ll pull my center rigger out and it seems to help.

    I was in Duane’s boat yesterday and we were talking about that same thing. After pulling your riggers in for the day, how many times do you mark fish afterwards. It happens every time and yesterday was no exception.

    The closest I’ll ever get to a roller guide is your boat at the marina….lol Very cool story. He will be a very annoyed fish for awhile.

    This difference between this season and last season is we didn’t have spring fishing at all last year. It never even got started. We’ll be fine and I wouldn’t expect brainless fishing forever anyways.

    I coached softball also and it amazes me what a racket travel ball has become. Also, parents are pushing their kids to a point that they can’t be kids anymore just to fill their own needs for Fakebook gratification. It’s getting sad really.

    You guys may poo poo this statement, but youth sports the last 15 years are a full time gig 12 months out of the year. Believe me, I lived it until recently and everyone fishing out there is probably a parent. There is just not the time for all that goes into to fish Lake Ontario.

    First motor is about 3 years old and runs perfectly. Just used this past weekend. $120 Second motor is older and was serviced maybe 7 years ago. It works, but because it’s an older unit, its a bit slower. Also has a short cord, but can be easily extended. Just used this past weekend. $50

    Shakedown day with Gator and Brian joining me this morning. Boat ran as it should and we did well on the fish which is a bonus. 8 kings, brown, bow, Atlantic, 2 lakers and lost a couple kings thanks to my jinxing big mouth…. 25-40fow east of the creek in the Genesee River plume. A few board fish with bombers, a couple stingray spoon fish on the riggers, paddle/meat rig and SD/chartruese “ear wax” fly did a bunch on slide divers/riggers. I guess we’ll see if mother nature will let us fish next week…..

    I use small p-line chain swivels attached to my fluorocarbon. Chain goes through guide fine. No twist either.
