  2. You have extended Rudders as well right Jon? Just add Tackle, this boat is tuned to troll. Good Luck with the sale!

  5. It is that time of the year again! The ELOSTA Tackle Swap will be March 14, 2014 at the Brewerton Fire Hall in Brewerton NY. This is a much bigger venue and it even has a seminar room available. Doors will open at 9am sharp and be open till 2pm in the afternoon. There will be food and drink available for purchase from the fire auxiliary. Pete Lahosky from Primetime Sportfishing will be giving his summer Brown Trout seminar at 11am. You wont want to miss this!! Pete is one of the Premiere Captains in the eastern basin and Brown Trout is his specialty. This seminar is free of charge, with your 1.00 dollar donation at the door to get into the Swap. We still have some available spots if you would like to have a table to sell some of your extra tackle that is just taking up space. Give Bill Pingle a call and he can take your reservation. His number is 315 515 8278. Hope to see you all there! Brian
  6. In terms of overall it is to soon but as of the meeting they were 2 days into Chinook egg take and they were half done with 2 million eggs so far and saw no issue with wrapping up Chinook egg take probably early this week. Plenty of fish at the hatchery for the egg take.
  7. We had a nice crowd of 30 or so for our annual meeting at the hatchery. I apologize that I have not posted a summary I have been away from my computer. I will try and get one out on this thread. In the meantime it was regurgitated material from the meeting in Rochester... They are all on the same page...
  8. There is a balcony inside you can see the indoor raceways from. Also you can still see the outdoor raceways if there is enough daylight. See you there.
  9. For the 10th year in a row we will be having our last meeting of the year at the Salmon River hatchery. It is October 15th at 7pm in the meeting room at the Hatchery. This is our opportunity to talk with Dave Lemon and his staff about the fishery and to hear updates from Andy Gruelwich the hatchery manager on how the egg take is proceeding. We will also have Scott Prindle there as well he is our region 7 biologist and is tasked with all the Net Pens in our area. This is a great time to meet and interact with our local regional people. I hope to see you all there. Brian
  10. Dr Lou out of curiosity were those kings clipped or not that you were catching there?
  11. Yes they do. They have a committee. Tom at Capt Jacks is very involved. And last I heard had his staff do the feeding.
  12. Jeff, I struggled for a few years trying to find a load that would shoot out of a Remington 870 20 gauge rifled deer gun for Marlene. Made to shoot slugs. I tried everything. The best shooting slugs were the cheap rifled remington slugs that wal mart sells. I couldnt believe it after spending countless dollars trying to find a straight shooting slug from this gun. Cortland Wal Mart has them.
  13. Ditto what Tom said. Your specific boat may need a few adjustments but the autopilot is a stud. I put 750 hours on one this year. Either motor trolls well. It will be perfect after I add large rudders over the winter. The new Hydro steer on it really helps. Pair it with a remote and the only reason to go to the helm is a speed adjustment.
  14. With Eggs?? Maybe if it came from the Genesee River.....
  15. Congrads on a nice Coho!
  16. No problem Rod I am just suprised it wasnt smashed after taking that fall and tumble.
  17. Did you release the fish or cut it? If you cut it did it have eggs?
  18. Temperature doesnt matter at this point! If they are still in the lake fish the marks. They are in full on river mode.
  19. Normally Tim and I are in full agreement but I think this one is a Coho. The only suspect thing from the pic is the number of spots on the back. Hard to tell from the pic. Mouth, Head and Anal fin say Coho.
  20. They came in the mail on friday. Printed June 24, 2014 arrived at my door Sept 9, 2014.....
  21. Update: According to the website they have issued my Lic I just have not recieved them. I did sign up for my bow and muzzle and I got both my doe tags. Well see If I recieve all in the mail. I found the new website a little convoluted but I expect nothing else from NYS...
  22. Am I the only one who has not gotten it in the mail yet?? Starting to get nervous.
  23. MIchigan it is 12". Also just to clear up any misconsceptions. There is not a single tournament on the US side of the lake where the minimum size is 15". The size limit is in place because we have a daily bag limit. And lets not forget there is also a possesion limit. Many forget that as they are driving home from the lake with a 3 day catch of fillets in there cooler.....
  24. The pro am has never been about kings it is about getting 12 fish each day and besting the field. If i get 12 browns and you have 6 kings I beat you. Lets not forget each fish is worth 10 points. Pro Am strategy it is critical that you start with a base score of 120 if you are a pro or 90 if you are an am. The Oswego Pro AM is timed perfectly to allow good fishing. Kings have been in play almost every year. Even if it capturing just one to put you over the top or capturing 12 to put you back in the game. August is not the time for a pro am. The playing field is level. How many times has Trout One won the tourney out of the little salmon when they participated? It is not about that at all. It is about what can be done to make it atractive to Capts to want to get in. My suggestion is a cash prize to the capt who has a full charter for the tourney that finishes the highest. And I am not talking about $500.00....
  25. Also the pro am is not just a salmon tourney. CMON MAN give the mighty Brown Trout some respect!
