  1. Definition of a Tyee is 30lbs. Doesn't matter if you are in British Columbia or Lake Ontario. Tyee=30lbs
  2. Rebuilding the entire wall. Should be finished in November.
  3. He was the original president and founding member. I still have 3 guys who were originals on the board of directors. They all have quite the story's to tell.
  4. A little more east end history. During the shutdown in 78 I believe please correct me if I got the year wrong. Two brothers who owned a saw mill on a small creek east of the nuclear plant decided they were going to raise there own kings. So they did, it was "Old Hickory" and his brother some of you may remember Old Hickory he passed away at 96 about 6 years ago. Anyway he and his brother raised these kings for at least 4 egg cycles before they were found out and asked to stop. Every year since 1980 there has been a small late October, early November run off kings to this particular creek what a very cool legacy these two men have left the Eastern Basin. Certain veteran captains would hold out knowing this run would stage in the area as well. I with held the name of this creek to protect the innocent!!
  5. Also think of Copper as a downrigger when it comes to leader length of mono. Isn't that right Paul! I suggested this tidbit to Paul quite a few years ago as he was ready to throw it all in the lake. It is not Leadcore!!!!! Typically 8 to 20 ft, I start short and go longer if it isn't producing.
  6. From what I saw it is Thursday thru Sunday. Just no Wednesday payout.
  7. Who ever is on your boat for the tourney will need a good watch......
  8. I am curious what Raymarines Tech Support response was to this? I use my remote a ton and go a 2 months with Lithium batteries.
  9. Give Kevin Yerge at Wilson boat yard a call 716 863 1001 about the Raymarine part. He is the authorized Ray dealer on the Lake. As far as the rudders give Tim at Krenzer Marine 315 483 6986 a call he will get your rudders made for you. I installed some this year and they are the Cats A**!!
  10. Thanks for all the Effort and a Great event Tom and Crew!
  11. East side in front of the hotels is the spot.
  12. I tried to add coated cable at 150 ft once using the crimp.. worked fine until the crimp got caught in the cable and well SNAP! All gone. Not my best play..
  13. I have a fishhawk and a depth raider on my boat. The fishhawk for sure orientents itself to the current. It is not that I don't use it, it actually can show you the current direction a lot easier. The depth raider is more reliable as far as consistent speed. The probe design keeps it fishing better in the current. It also functions much better at a slower speed then a hawk. They both have there pluses and minus. I like both and use both for different applications and programs. I don't think it really matters which unit you have as long as you can repeat the successful program.
  14. Did you check the bouy/ weather station data for actual wind speeds? I get it right on my phone thru an app. Marine weather from Accuweather. Works great.
  15. Join ELOSTA tomorrow night at the VFW in Mexico NY for our meeting and seminar from Capt. Phil Lucason from Family Style Charters. Capt. Phil will show us how he makes and paints his own attractors with a little help from his first mate and daughter Morgan. Morgan by the way is an up and coming 1st rate Fisherwomen! The meeting will start at 7pm sharp. Looking forward to seeing you there.
  16. Thanks for the upfront work Tom! Should be a good tourney.
  17. Congratulations to Team Thrillseeker for getting the job done in the Classic box (12 fish) and Team Yankee Troller for the Trophy Box(5 Fish) Wins!
  18. Size of the boat means zip...sick of this argument. Back in the days of the challenge cup anyone know what the smallest boat to win the pro cup was? 22 Center Console...at the same time a 31 was winning the am side.. It is all about program guys. 1 rigger or 6 it makes no difference if you don't know how to use them.. Either fish these events or don't.
  19. Those are for sure Original Fuzzy Bears before Carl sold them to Dreamweaver. Want to sell them? They wont work!
  20. You are going to burn a lot more fuel at 1000 to 1100 rpms. My 305s pur at 600 to 850 usually. After 850 or 900 I put another bag in to get my rpms down. Just the way I do it. Also with 2 bags in the water and a single screw motor you may find you will not be able to turn opposite your motor rotation. My guess is your single is spinning clockwise so you will want a bag on your starboard side.
  21. Update, I can see it on my work phone which is an iphone. I still cant see it on a droid or windows explorer on my computer. I tried to go to the register section on the iphone and it sent me to lodging in the Niagara county website. thanks for looking into it Chad!
