  1. Tried there 6 or so years ago. All I got was pissed off by the PMed offers I got. Although some information about the rod was good posted by a couple of guys. Rod was put back into the closet and been in there since. Any other ideas?
  2. Thanks again. It's an 8 1/2 ft 4-5 weight. The markings are still there just on a different side of the rod. Looks like I'll hold on to it and take it out and catch a few trout with it this spring and see if the prices come back up in the next few years. I appreciate the time you took to respond.
  3. Thanks for your input. The rod is completely original including finish, windings, guides and handle. It was made in Amherst MA by the Amherst fishing rod company somewhere in the mid 40's. It's been fished but well taken care of. No warping ect. This is probably not an ebay sale or purchase for resale type deal and I'm looking for some type of media to reach serious buyers. Can you give me any leads as far as that would go?
  4. Like new condition. 4 sets of blades. Three salmon filleted with the 12" blades other 3 sets are brand new. Spare lithium battery included. 2 battery's. Charger and case. $150.00 firm Buyer pays actual shipping or pick up in Mexico.
  5. I have an antique bamboo fly rod made in the 40's from the Berkshires in MA I'm looking to sell. The rod is in very nice shape but I don't have a clue on where I would list it. Any collectors here or anybody able to give me any direction of where to list it? Thanks Glen
  6. Main line I like a couple hundred feet of 12 lb Ande underneath my fluorocarbon leaders. 20 lb test under the 12 depending on reel capacity. Cheap and easy to replace the 12 and leaders every year or as needed during the season.
  7. Forschner Cimeter for salmon. 10 or 12" blade for salmon and big lakers. I use the 12" for peeling the fillets off and going through bone and the 10" for skinning. Easy to sharpen and the edge lasts.
  8. I ran Magda 30's and 20's for years and while they were cheap reels they did the trick. Fished the Finger Lakes and then Ontario for a few years with them. Took many Salmon and Browns and never lost a fish because of them. Drags were a little sticky. This was 25+ years ago so I don't know if they are the same now. From my past experience I think they will be fine for the limited use it seems they would get. IF they are the same as they were back then.
  9. They are both productive but a slide diver has to be removed completely from the line or left on that rod. Same thing if you want to change color divers and then re rigged when you want to fish it again. A fixed diver can be removed from the rod via a snap swivel which is a hell of a lot more convenient. That said, I always have at least one rod on the boat dedicated to slide divers and four for running fixed divers.
  10. No way I would buy a boat without a sea trial and survey for a glass boat.
  11. Thats a really low price. I paid over $100.00 for my 150 at Costco.
  12. Something wrong there. I have a charter insurance policy with a million liability through Boat US/Geico and pay less than that.
  13. I'll take them if dp doesn't
  14. Igloo Marine cooler
  15. What do you want to use it for, fish? Igloo.
  16. pmd for lot 3
  17. Thanks. I have a message out to him
  18. Thanks. He's backed up until April and I can't wait that long.
  19. I believe I read on this site there was a competent reel repair guy maybe in or around Rochester maybe? Anybody have any experience with them and contact info? Thanks
  20. So the two lakes are not both being treated during the same year during the same time frame?
  21. So if the weather hasn't prevented them from controlling the lamprey on Cayuga, why has the weather been preventing them from controlling them on Seneca? Cayuga was a real mess not that long ago, now they are under control.
  22. Trophy Brown for Cayuga. Taken from shore adds to the accomplishment. Beautiful fish and Congrats to your friend..
  23. Could be an 1101 if it has a 30" X 1 1/4" boom. The dual rod holders could have been added.
  24. Don't get discouraged. Yes a hundred bucks is an expensive lesson and yes there is a learning curve involved with every presentation but wire divers are a deadly presentation. Spooling and running wire is not difficult you just have to know how to do it. Post up your questions here before you attempt something new and in most cases you will receive sound advice that will shorten your learning curve and in some cases save you some money. I run mono divers as well as braid when the conditions dictate and I won't leave the dock without my wires in the boat. Good luck and Happy New Year.
