  1. You can drive a boat, sit in a boat that is being fished out of and as long as you have the legal amount of two rods per licensed angler you are completley withing the law. Of course the unlicensed person cannot in any way handle the rods. The net would be an interesting question. If you are not fishing you do not need a license period. The DEC would have to make sure there are licences to accomadate the number of rods being fished. Thats all they need to know. Happy fishing. Glen
  2. Good work Dell. We had it the other way around. One area packed with mature Kings and one loaded with coho. Maybe four passes through in 2 days of prefishing at different times and had rods going every time. Come Saturday both areas were warmer and the fish were gone. Glen
  3. Thanks for the kind words guys. For the record the team name is Spoonfed/NK. Got to give some recognition to show our appreciation to our sponsor, Northern King. They been making some great products for a long long time. Also got to give alot of credit to my crew, Chris (Irish Knots) and Jeff (Empty Hook). They were phenominal out there. Makes my job a whole lot easier having a good solid team. Good luck to everyone fishing this weekend. Glen
  4. Nice work Richard. Long haul for you though. How many hours? Glen
  5. Definately looks like a keeper. Congrats. Glen
  6. My boat does about 40 so if the top takes it on the water no reason it won't on the trailer. Just use a little common sense. Glen
  7. If your subtroll is reading +1 all the time you should adjust the speed on it. Don't have time to post the precedure but it's in the directions for the unit. Glen
  8. Nice..... I got sick of getting pounded 2 weeks in a row so I stayed home and fished a local pond out of my little boat Got pounded anyway. Back up next weekend. Glen
  9. THe Browns will move deeper as the water warms. Their prefered temp range is 50 -60 but bait a more important factor to these crazy LO browns. I've caught them in water that was in the uper 60's more than once. Glen
  10. Changed the name on mine. No bad luck and it catches a fish or two now and then. Glen
  11. I have owned both and perfere the rollers hands down. Glen
  12. Saturday morning I woke up to a freight train coming towards my camper. Opps just the wind. Stuck my head out the door to try and establish a direction. Didn't work to well as the camper is down in a gulley and the wind usually swirls. Knew she was blowing good but got dressed and drove over to the lake anyway. Man was she crankin. Turned around and drove back to the camper. Needed a new gas grill so I made that my days project. Assembled the grill, cooked steaks, grill worked good. Sunday morning the wind wasn't as bad so I got ready and headed over to the lake. She was choppy but given the direction, WNW I knew I could get to a spot were I found a few fish last weekend and have a small area to troll with some protection. Running out sucked and I took a beating but sure enough there was an area calm enough to maintain a slow troll. Unfortunatley the water was like chocolate milk out to about 40 fow I trolled the break for awhile but it was to bumpy to hold a slow troll so I headed into 8 ft of calm water with 0 visability and trolled for an hour and a half or so. Picked up 2 small fish which given the conditions wasn't to bad I guess. One off a Chatruse and silver spoon, one of a flatlined black and gold stickbait. Felt good to be out. Glen
  13. There are fish in that area. Whether or not they are catching them off the pier I can only guess they are. Jim, ya we will be out for the LOC. Keep a spot open for Jeff. You been able to get a hold of Petroy yet? I keep getting an answereing machine. Glen
  14. Well, sure was nice getting out this early. About a week earlier than normal. Saturday morning got all the maintanance done on the boat and got her in the water. Was 2:30 pm before I hit the lake. Was solo so I ran 2 rods. Spoon on one stick on the other. Went west and it took me about an hour and a half to find a few. Once I found em i did 4 decent fish between 4:00 and 5:00. Had to quit early as I still had some things to do to get the camper ready while it was still daylight. Felt great hooking a few even as sluggish as they are in this cold water. Sunday morning decided to go north. Had a couple buddys up so I ran a good six rod spread. Mix of sticks and spoons. Again it took me a while to get on them but once we did we hit them pretty good going 9 or 10 for about 12 or 13 in a couple hours. Couple nice fish to boot. Biggest maybe 8. Regular Brown stuff. Water was 38 - 40 on top and the fish were sluggish but fun anyway. It's been a long winter. Glen
  15. Don, We run pink and clear Ande and theres no difference as far as the fleas go. Glen
  16. Thoughts and prayer go out to Shirley and family. That websight was a great thing they did for the fishermen of LO. Glen
  17. Erin, I got an 8 day conservation (25.25) and an 8 day sport fishing.(43.50) With the 2 9.00 charges everything came to about $83.00. conservation you can keep 2 fish a day and sport fishing you can keep 5 a day. We head out for the spring LOC. Glen
  18. We ordered our Can. licence last week and they came in the mail today. In addition to the licence fee there was 2 $9.00 charges for an outdoor card. The card is a pink piece of paper that you MUST carry with your licence. It says before years end a plastic card will be sent to you. I guess from what I read it's good for three years. Just a heads up on what to expect. Glen
  19. Hi Stan, Overcoming the tripping problem won't be much of an issue with the S. D. lite bite. What you want to consider is that it won't be much fun reeling in small fish with the gear required to run it as well as the tripped diver itself. Just my opinion. Glen
  20. Maasuchusetts ain't much better. This fricken Governer wants to raise the gas tax by 29 cents a gal. making us the higest in the nation. I just heard today he wants to put a gps chip in the state inspection stickers and tax you on how far you drive. By the way his first week in office he went out to buy the Governers car. A Ford Crown Vic. He came home with a Cadillac. The following week he gave his wife a part time job as a scheduler for a measly $87,000 a year. Nice huh? Oh did I mention he's a democrat? I got alot of friends up in NY and I know you guys got it real bad also. Want to creat jobs and they drive industry from the state with their taxes. Oh man I got to get out on the water soon. Glen
