  1. I got stacks of old ones Stan. If you can give me an approximate issue date I'll be glad to dig thru them and send it to you. I could probably just scan it and e-mail it if thats the only article your interested in. Glen
  2. Looks like you'll be getting a call soon Matt. Glen
  3. Quite a few guys run Aluminum here because they are much lighter and easier to tow. I keep my boat in a slip for the entire season so I definately prefere Fiberglass. It's additional weight makes for a much nicer ride. On the great Lakes the peak to peak distance between waves is very short. Even a 3 foot chop makes for a bumpy ride. As far as what brands it's all personel preference but Lund is very popular. I run a Wellcraft 25 foot and am quite happy with it. Alot of Penn Yans around. Glen
  4. I love my Simrad Randy. All the posts I've read on auto pilots I don't think I've EVER read a negative comment on the units themselves. Latley I've read some negative comments about their tech support. When I bought mine a couple years ago the tech support was great. good luck with your decision. Glen
  5. Don't run any dipsys off the boards. The boards themselves get your presentation away from the boat and if you want depth you can add weight, run leadcore or copper. Glen
  6. Thanks for the site Shark. Ordered one today. Glen
  7. Thanks Nick. Sent them an e-mail. Landshark can you post or pm the other websight? Thanks
  8. I went to the websight and can't find a size large. They go from small to XL. Am I missing something? Thanks Glen
  9. Did you guys order by using the websight or phone? Thanks Glen
  10. Sorry to hear about your troubles. But I am kinda happy that he decided to chew on the nice shiny clean boat and not the dirty old fishin boat next door. Seriously that sucks. First time I ever heard of that over there. You going to go with a thru hull replacement? Will your insurance cover it? Only got about 14 more weeks until we are back out for Browns. Keep in touch. Glen
  11. I think 3 rods on the Finger lakes would be fine EXCEPT for Traveling man, Lytline and Rusty Rat as these three guys would decimate the lakes fish population with all those rods out. Glen
  12. Replaced the impeller and the boat ran great. Even managed a few trout. Impeller was not damaged just plain wore out. Housing was fine. Thanks for the replys. Glen
  13. Thanks for the suggestions and thanks for the offer Hank. Really appreciate it. Have a great Holiday. Glen
  14. Thanks Guys. Guess I'll start tearing it apart tomorrow night. Got to get it running for the 4 day long cold weekend ahead. Might be the last fishable weekend before all the ramps are iced in. After that it's probably just a couple Cayuga trips this winter if they get the bubbler system going at Tauganock. Glen
  15. I was out on a local pond this morning and my outboard overheated. I froze my azz off but the motor overheated. It's a 1998 20 hp Evinrude 2 stroke. I figure it's the impeller because when I first started it at the launch, yup the icy launch, it took quite a while for the water to start pissing out the outflow. Thought at first it might have been iced up but once it started it stayed week. When I cut her down to trolling speed it took about 15 minutes before the overheat alarm went off. Anybody got any pointers on replacing this. Never done it before. This is a new to me boat and I don't know when, if ever, its been changed. Thanks Glen
  16. Always got a spot open for you. Glen
  17. Sure looks sweet Chris. Best of luck with her. Coming out to the Bar this spring? Glen
  18. I usually start looking for Kings in June out of Mexico Bay out in deep water and it's more like July before we start connecting with mature fish with any consistency. April and May are spent Brown fishing which is usually good. As someone mentioned you can find Salmon out deep which are generally smaller fish but every so often you can run into some mature fish as well. Steelhead fishing has been on an upswing the last couple years in the east end as well. Every so often we tie into a Salmon while Brown fishing in the spring but thats pretty rare. As far as fishing now you can find some good Brown and Steelhead fishing in November but the weather usually sucks, cold and windy as hell. If you go now keep safety first. Count on being the only one out there and help is not easy to come by should something happen. Enjoy the boat. Glen
  19. What part of the lake are you looking to fish? Makes a big difference. Glen
  20. The 18 inch minimum would have worked out good last year seeing how there wasn't any Salmon around. Normally it wouldn't be an issue. It might be good to leave the 21 inch rule for Salmon and Steelhead and 18" on Browns. Also either allow lakers or at least 1 laker to be weighed. Glen
