  1. So far my crew has had good luck with the 2 balde rage we switched last year forn the muzzys. We have been 4 for 5 on recoverys the one doe was an extreme quarting away shot and believe that the shot went through the armpit area and did not breach the chest cavity, the shooter admitted he aimed to far forward for the angle she was standing. The entry holes have been as advertised and blood trails awesome, 3 of the shots were complete pass throughs and one the broadhead did exit and then the arrow was broken by the deer running and fell out. The reason we changed was in hopes of easier recovery especialy on the evening hunts in thick brush the coyotes have been making a mess out of our deer when left until the morning. I have never wanted to even try a mechanical before this style came out and up to now have killed all my deer with fixed blade broadheads but these fly great and i love the blood trails so I will stick withem until I can find a flaw. One flaw they are very pricy!! But so is everything else that I like LOL!!!
  2. I am Glad to hear that Rick the thoughts and prayers will keep coming until he is back on the boat fishing with you guys!!
  3. Good Luck to you to Rob. Enjoy the day! I just got done buying 8 lb of boneless strip steak and 4 lbs of giant sea sclaps so if nothing else we will eat good at camp tomorrow night. I will be hunting with 2 good friends, my brother and my 75 year old father it might not be the most serious group to hunt with but it will be time well spent with friends and family. As always guys Hunt Hard and above all Hunt Safe.
  4. I am with you Rob it looks like a cat to me!!

  6. Rick I hope your father has a full and speedy recovery our whole familys thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
  7. Thanks Guys It was the most fun I have had deer hunting in a long time and I have shot some very nice deer with good friends and family but the look on his face and the excitement he had was priceless. He woke this morning early and on his own which is unusual because I often have to drag him out of bed. Not this morning he was up early and talking about our deer and how we will be cutting it up tonight. He also mentioned those tender loins that are in the frig and he asked if he could cook them on the grill for us tonight. Oh and Gaj don’t worry about things going wrong just enjoy the time spent and no matter what happens use it as a learning experience to teach them. Remember keep the hunt short, keep it fun, bring binoculars, tasty treats, point everything out that mother nature brings to us and you guys will have a great time.
  8. I usually dont take my 9 year old son bowhunting much because he is very figidy but we slipped out back and got in our 2 man stand about 330pm and about an hour later a doe had us pinned down. My son was shacking he was so excitied but he would not move a muscle then another doe came in and I made a nice shot at about 8 yards you got to love those shots and the rage did its job it only went about 60 yards. My son said holy crap that was cool he was really shacking then he told me where I hit her and he said he heard her pile up so we got down and he was able to follow the blood right to her. I have had a lot of great bow hunts but this one ranks right at the top. I still have a huge smile on my face!!!! Oh and so does my son!!!
  9. All I am going to say about big cats being around is where is the evidence of the 1 deer a week these big cats are suppose to be eating. I don’t see tracks I don’t see bone piles I don’t see droppings from any big cats. I am not calling anybody a liar here but I will take the stance of I am from Missouri so somebody is going to have to show me some solid evidence or a dead cat to convince me.
  10. Good Luck To all and becareful! It should be a great weekend to hunt !!
  11. Watching this makes me want to try some tourney fishing !!
  12. I will be hunting local Sat. am not sure what property yet maybe just in my little 5 acre backyard stand. Then I will head down to camp which is in sardinia located SE Erie county we have about 15 stands on 300 acres not sure what one I will sit in depends on how many people show up. I dont do much preseason scouting anymore because the property is a little over hunted but it still is a lot of fun to go down and hang out with the boys. The older I get the less I want to work hard enough to get the big buck. I now hunt more on luck and wish the fishing season was longer, I guess because after 34 years of bowhunting and just a handful of years of big lake trolling I would rather fish. Good Luck to all be safe, have fun and enjoy the time spent with family and friends.

  20. Shade take a look at this link if you are interested call the owner of the company or email him he would tell you if they would work for your boat or not with a money back gaurente. http://www.nauticusinc.com/smart_tabsII.htm for the trolling option I think you would have to by 4 of the adjustable upper mounting brackets.
  21. I run pro troller smart tabs on my boat and they work great for getting and staying on plane. Also when droped down into trolling position I dont have to even think about using bags anymore they were about 170 dollars and installed in less then an hour. My last boat I had a trolling plate and it did not handle very well these smart tabs improve low speed handling they also help you stay on plane at much lower speeds and in rough water that is a big help. They do have a money back gaurntee as well. I do not have any connection to this product I just love them and thought I would share the info.
  22. Grady No I do not ice fish but Al at Mils says they catch there biggest pike through the hard water so it sounds good. I had a very harry experience on lake erie growing up when I was ice fishing and I do not like the hard water since. Long story short lake erie is a big lake when your 13 years old and a heavy fog rolls in and then you fall into a hole and get wet. So I stay on land during the winter and chase the animals around. Good luck on your trip I am sure it will work out by the way check out french creek marina camp grounds i think they are under the 1000 island clayton link I posted they seem like a place that might work. The dog thing might be tuff very few places other than state parks allow them up there because of liability.
